Induction cook tops installed in nwer units

I note that many newer units are coming with induction cook tops, rather than propane. I have used a stand alone portable/tabletop induction unit, and it is very noisy from what I assume is a cooling fan. I have never used a built in induction unit. While I have read up on them one issue that never seems to be addressed is the noise they make. For those of you have the induction cook tops in your unit how do you like using it vs propane? Is it noisy? Any other problems?

They aren't any more noisy than the vent fan above the propane stove which you are using right?? (Well ok you may not have an RV in which case you're not LOL. It is recommended that a window be opened and the vent fan used when using the propane stove to vent out the exhaust gases from propane combustion. Trust me that vent fan is far louder than any of our induction cooktops.)

I installed a two burner induction stove in replacement for our propane one. The fans are buried under the counter and are a little less noisy than our portable single burner one.

Thanks, do want lots of extraneous noise while cooking. A/C is noise enough.

LOL! You wouldn't be able to hear an induction cooktop above the howling of the A/C. (Or above the noise of the furnace if its cold out.)

Question: How much power do those induction cook-tops use?

Could you post picture? I searched and couldn’t find one.

I’m curious how you modified the countertop (I’m assuming the new induction is smaller than gas and doesn’t go to edge). Or did you replace entire top?

I like the induction cooktop it heats up fast and is easy to clean. There are a few things to consider , if you are a camper that only goes to campground that have power hookups than IMHO they are great but if you dry camp more, than propane is a better option.
The cooktops can be broken so car must be taken when using them. I bought a large fiberglass cutting board from a restaurant supply company and cut it down to fit over the cooktop protecting it and is good for counter space when drying dishes, I also put rubber feet on the bottom for a non skid surface.
I also carry a small one burner butane stove as a backup when we dry camp and have used it indoors with the fan going and a window open, it also works great.
My Compass came with the induction cooktop so did not have the option of it or propane, I did look into switching to propane but the cost was way more than my $30.00 butane stove.
Hope these comments help

Here is another option. When we were looking at new RVs, before purchasing the Accolade, we saw one that had this setup. Can't remember which one it was in, but it was in a diesel pusher.

Built-in RV stove with 2 Gas Burners and Induction Cooktop

Is that per burner, or, with all burners operating

Interesting, best of both worlds

I agree... but I lack the space for something of that size.

So it would be per burner... AND with all of them operating.

Pictures of my install are around (I know this is at least the 3rd time I've posted one LOL but anyway here you go; test boiling water):

A local cabinet shop made the counter top for me--its just a laminate (they had a remnant laying around that fit so they didn't charge me and the pattern works well in the Axis).

Induction stove is this one (Amazon) and the new sink is this one (Amazon)

The sink is much larger than the old cheapy plastic thing and much deeper (lost the top drawer there--I just removed the front of the drawer and velcroed it over the hole--can't really tell).

The reason for the kitchen re-do was we wanted more counter space and since the induction top is flush with the counter and the sink has a cutting board insert that is flush with the counter we added a bunch of space without adding a bunch of space (removed the flip up counter that was to the left of the sink).

Our Axis does not have an outside TV but when I had removed some of the drawers a while ago I noticed that they had left the outlet for the outside TV laying on the floor. This made for a really easy install for the cooktop: just plug it in ! (and mount the outlet--it really was just laying on the floor LOL).

Multiple burner induction stoves manage the power so that it doesn't go over. The one I installed in our coach: Turn one burner on to "10" and then start cranking the other one up from "1" at some point the stove will automatically start turning down the other burner (thus can't have both at "10").

The power listed is total.

2019 Thor Challenger 2 element induction cook top zero noise, nothing to make any sound no fans. Wife loves it and in hot summer months doesn't add heat to further AC burden. And we are fulltime

Thanks. Looks great.

And it’s far more functional given such a small area. Limited counter surface in 24.1 is one of the least desirable features. Great upgrade.

Interesting... Thanks!

But the discussion was about a single burner setup...

...Which I guess we can't turn up to "20"!
