An inverter changes 12 VDC from batteries to 120 VAC to run standard household items that "plug in". Unless somebody's drastically changed your coach's wiring you interior lights are 12 VDC powered by either the house batteries or the CONVERTER.
A CONVERTER converts 120 VAC to 12 VDC to power the 12 VDC loads and charge the batteries.
Plugging in the RV to the proper outlet will automatically power the CONVERTER and supply 12 VDC to all 12 VDC loads including the interior lights. This will occur regardless of the status of the USE/STORE or "Salesman" switch which disconnects the house batteries from the DC buss when the coach is stored and not plugged in; to minimize the loss of charge on the house batteries.
If your interior lights are dim when the coach is plugged in then either the 120 VAC breaker for the converter is open/tripped, or the output fuses are blown, or the converter is bad.
My crystal ball s kinda fuzzy so in that case you'll need to braek out the voltmeter and start troubleshooting.
