Kidde Fire Extinguisher replaced twice

I have a 2017 Outlaw 29H. Last summer, Kidde replaced my fire extinguisher due to the plastic handle recall. When I received the January 2018 recall letter from Thor about Kidde fire extinguishers, I assumed that since mine was recently replaced by Kidde that this notice was redundant. Just to be safe, I checked my model number on the Kidde web site and found it listed for recall. I contacted Kidde and sure enough, the new fire extinguisher needed to be replaced as well. I asked the Kidde representative why they would send out a recall replacement that was also recalled by them a few months later. The Kidde rep could not explain. So the point of this post is if you responded to an earlier recall, you might still have a problem with the newly replaced fire extinguisher.

We received the January recall letter, and are now waiting for our replacement extinguisher from Kidde.

This is the first recall we've had for the product on our 2016 Hurricane.

Kidde seems to be doing some "damage control".
I've been seeing advertisements for their products for the first time... ever!

They replaced mine, said it would be 4 to 6 weeks, but the replacement came in about one week. Hope this one works, but of course can't know until its too late, if it doesn't.

My replacement came today about a week after I filled out the web form.

We're waiting on our replacement. Just filled out the online recall on the Kidde site this week. Was pretty straight forward.

Mine wasn’t entirely straightforward. Ours didn’t show up on the US recall page but it WAS on the Canadian recall page. Odd but fine!

Somebody must have told them that you were planning a trip to the "Great White North".

We received our replacement Kidde fire extinguisher a few weeks ago.

It is quite a bit smaller (and white) than the recalled one. I sort of fits into the space near the door.

Wondering if the smaller extinguisher size means less product inside?

I think they messed up. I got mine last week, it’s the same size and color (red) as the one being recalled.

The written info I was sent also said it would fit into the existing holder, and it did.

There were a number of different models being recalled, someone gave you the wrong one.

Don’t know...my new one looks much like the old one but is ever so slightly fatter. The old plastic strap does not quite fit around it. Not a problem as the new one included a new mount and (surprisingly) two straps, one plastic and one metal.

Mine also came with the same straps, but I was able to fasten the existing mount/strap around it. It was tight even with the original.

Mine was white like my original but really hard to fasten with the strap.

My original was white, as is the replacement. A lot of the plastic hardware is metal on the replacement. It fits the same, in the compartment and the strap works well too.

I revicievd my replacement but it was smaller. My recalled was a 10G and replacement was a 5G. Smaller and lighter. I called Kiddie. After talking to two different reps one took my info that I was not satisfied with the smaller unit. That's been a week so still waiting for he correct replacement.
