Let’s get it going! I love my Thor!

I’ll admit it - I, like so many of us, became frustrated with some “new coach” issues that I had to iron out with my ACE 30.2. But having owned it for two incredibly fun years now, the memories we’ve made in it in such a short time FAR outweigh any issues I’ve had to fix. That being said, it bothers me somewhat to see Thor being drug through the mud on the internet concerning quality issues. I really believe that it’s more of a result of Thor selling so many units (heck, they own a whopping 48 percent of the market). We all know that ALL RV’s, from the 6k pop-ups to the million dollar rolling mansions have stuff break. That’s just an accepted part of our lifestyle. But it’s a fun lifestyle indeed!

With that being said, let’s get it going! If you love your Thor, warts and all, post a picture of er and tell everyone your favorite vacation story/memory/funny moment you’ve made so far! GO!

Cool idea for a thread.

My favorite trip has been our trip to see the eclipse last year. Very cool event and I ran into a fellow form member to boot.

Even warts and all we enjoy our RV and traveling around in the NC mountains.
The dogs enjoy it (we recently lost our big Lab to Acute Canine Lymphoma)
We enjoy a freshly caught and cooked meal over the campfire.
And then we get ready to go off to another roadtrip!

They say that you're attracted to your ideal mate for their strengths...

But that the love grows from their weaknesses.

Warts and all: our RVs sure are fun!

Jamie,

Thanks, as it goes with the "Ms. Enterprise" RV name. I thought it might make Bob's Avatar homesick! We got it on line from a tire store (info stored at home). It is elastic around the sides and a hard plastic for the picture.
I wonder how long a spare tire kept in a hard cover like that will last?

Doc

Yep, I love my Axis, probems and all. It took us about a year to work out the minor problem (Myself) and upgrade some of the short commings (Added inverter, larger batteries etc. (too long of a list).

Right now we been just visting the local CG in AR but next year we plan on going to CO and FL? We are still taking care of my mom. She is under Hospice care in my home right now. But next year we will have more time to travel.

Let’s get it going! I love my Thor!

We’ve enjoyed our Axis 24.1 so much the 4 years plus that we’ve owned and traveled in it from coast to coast and putting all but approx. 40 of the 23,275 miles on it. Had some of what I’d call very minor issues with it but they’ve been few and far between. Thank goodness.

Have learned much about RVing from being a part of this forum and everyone is so helpful whenever there’s a problem.

Looking forward to many more good times in our Axis and are in the planning stages for a spring trip back to Utah next year.

Doc... so sorry to hear about the loss of your black Lab. They’re like family and we miss them so much when they’re gone. Labs are the very best dogs.

My family loves our MoHo. Issues are issue and honestly if that’s the worst thing you have going on in your life you have it good. Our favorite trip was to Disney. Drove from Washington state and the kids loved riding and playing on the drive down. Kids got to go to Vegas for the first time and stayed at the KOA at Sam’s Town casino which was really nice. When we got to Anaheim we stayed at Anaheim Harbor RV park which was really nice considering it’s parking lot camping. Super clean, and very reasonably priced and just a short mile walk to Disney and the kids had a great time. The momeries from that trip alone make everything worth it and are experiences that my kids will always remember.

One of our favorites has been a campground literally 30 minutes away. This video (if I can get it to post) is from Baileys Point Campground at Barren River Lake in south central Kentucky. We spent the weekend there for “Boo-bash”; the entire campground becomes a giant trick or treat neighborhood! And some folks go ALL OUT in decorating their campers, campsites, and their bodies! And by the way, that’s not me as cousin Eddie, but it was awesome. Dude made it out of a golf cart! Lol!

Loving our Thor!

We are 22 months into our 2017 Challenger 37LX. We had the first year hiccups to deal with but nothing major and all were handled under warranty. We use it as much as possible. It serves as our "beach house" near the gulf coast of Florida over the summer. We just got back from a 2 week, 1700 mile round trip to Asheville, NC and Helen, Ga, where we met some friends who bought a new 2019 Hurricane 29M. They're new RVers and loved our Thor so much they went and bought their own. They love their Thor too!

One funny story from our recent trip, we were following Google maps trying to get to Unicoi State Park in GA, when we suddenly saw a sign that said "Pavement ends in 500ft". Yeah, that'll bunch your panties! A certain scene from the movie "RV" came to mind. lol Anyway, after stopping for a brief moment to consider our options we decided to press on. All went well but it was a high stress 2 mile drive! In our defense, there were others behind us who apparently followed the same map, including a truck pulling a 5th wheel.

Two years and 12,000 miles. Two long trips each lasting several weeks. Our last long trip was our favorite going from California to Colorado to Spokane and back to California. A week long stay in Estes Park CO and all other nights spent in KOAs except the first night out was spent at New Frontier RV Park in Winnemucca NV. No issues. We used our RV to site see, shop and anything else you use a car for.

Several other trips including one week to McMinnville OR and three weekenders to Reno, NV and 4 weeks to Iowa.

We bought our 2018 THOR Siesta 24SS with the summit package and upgraded diesel generator back in March and love it. We traded in our 2016 Winnebago ERA Class B for the THOR and have not even looked back at the deal. We added the Equalizer Hydraulic Leveling System just after the purchase. Planning on a few more short two day trips before going out next April 2019 for a 6 week road trip in it. Also reserved a campsite in Yellowstone National Park for July 2019 where we plan on taking our grandson with us. This unit came with all of the bells and whistles including a 100 watt solar charging system, tankless hot water system and more.

It has been over 30 years since I have been in Estes Park. Are the roads ok to drive my 31 ft class c motorhome there? TIA

Yes I think you would have no issues. The road through the park is very well kept. Parking in town is the tough part. Our 23 footer had no problems anywhere. We saw DP's towing cars going through town.

I love my Thor! We just bought it last year. We went to Florida in a 24 ft Coachman last January and came home in March in our 30 ft Thor ACE! Much better to live in. The floor plan is perfect for us. Looking forward to another winter in Florida and then taking a long trip out west in Sept.

It's fun with the grandkids at a family reunion, visiting the Corn Palace on the way to Mount Rushmore, or dry camping at Midwest Old Threshers Reunion in Mt Pleasant, Iowa.

I enjoy having my own bed and bathroom and being able to stop when I want...thanks to Walmart, truck stops and rest areas. RV'ing is the only way to travel!
