That's interesting. I didn't know that. You would think that as a company they would make up their mind how they want to do it and make it the same on all their stuff.

I do the same check, but using a 4' level across the counter-top normally shows low to the drivers side (after sliding). I have gone manual and bumped up that side 4-8 degrees(?) on the leveling screen, depending on expected length of stay.
Most short stays I just accept the auto level, then slide.

I've been thinking I should recalibrate the leveling system to allow for the slide in the extended position, but haven't yet.

Here's a question for you: Have you checked to see that the countertop is as level as the flooring?

Or other spots within your rig?

Always level first, then you don't have to worry about putting a strain on your slides, (possibly binding up from being in a twist).

You do understand that leveling can do exactly that, twisting the chassis?

The Lippert jack computer wont let you do that in auto level. The computer grounds the jacks first and then only moves the jacks in pairs just to prevent twisting. We use bubble levels calibrated to the propane frig's idea of what is level. We feel that the coach should be no more than one bubble out of level before attempting to level; otherwise, we move the coach around the site to get where it is most level.

One the same subject - each one of the Thor Industries' plants operate as a separate entity. Plant 650 uses an entirely different chassis than plant 750 and each plant has it own designers and engineers, so why would you expect any commonality?

I can’t start the engine of my A.C.E. 29.2 with the slide out. I can’t extend the slide out with the engine running. So, the process is very simply this; 1) hook up external things, 2) with engine running, Level the coach.3) with engine off, extend the slide out. Badabing, Bada boom. Done.

Heavy right side

I use auto-level first but then go to manual to bring up the right side a little more, knowing it will be low on that side when I put the slide out. I have a very long slide containing the heavy kitchen and king headboard. I have sometimes re-leveled manually on the right after putting out the slide but Lippert said it was OK to do so.

As the owner of a 40' Monaco DP that uses the airbag suspension to level the coach, it is a whole different procedure in my manual. My instructions say I must put all 4 slides out before leveling. My system also rechecks for level every two hours and adjusts as necessary. It freaks out the neighbors when the rig starts jacking and spitting air just sitting there. It will continue to do that for as long as the system is left on which the book says to leave on as long as you are using it. If the tanks run low on air there is even a 12v air pump to refill the tanks automatically.

Your post points out something that we should try to remember: different rigs with different systems may be dancing to a different tune.

It did take a little getting used to that the rig dances in the night but now I don't even wake up.

We traded our 16 Chateau for the 06 Monaco. Our Chateau even with the leveling legs down was always shaky compared to this DP. This one weights in at 36k so it is pretty stable even on it's tires. We weren't even "looking" but this one was such a deal when we walked in DW was sold. It was a one owner with only 26,000 miles.

When I level (always with Auto) my RV seems to sit nose down. If I manual level I can tweak the front jacks to raise an inch or so?

This is a femake solo traveler so I depend on the forum community. Thanks in advance.

You can always "Tweak the mixture"...
But it's best to put down a level, and use it as your guide.
I found an app for my smartphone that goes a bang-up job!)

There is a procedure to reset the level on the system. You have to get it level to your liking then tell the system that that is level. Look up the control panel that you have and there will be specific instructions on how to reset the level. When we had our Chateau we had to do that a few times in 2 yrs.
