Leveling

I took my 2014 Thor Freedom Elite out for the first time last night and realized I needed to level the unit. I don't see where the unit has levelers on it.

Good observation.

You didn't see this when you bought it?

Many of the entry level RV's do NOT come with the hydraulic leveler. You will have to use wood blocks or the plastic lego blocks to drive up on. That got real old for me real quick.

Or add an aftermarket leveling system like I did.

For years I had a truck camper. I leveled it with the plastic lego blocks. It takes about five minutes. Our new Siesta is leveled the same way. I'm so used to the lego method that it's no big deal. Maybe someday I'll experience the hydraulic systems.

Some of my local camping spots (and Trail head) are just stone and very unlevel.

I have spent up to 45 minutes sweating and cussing to level 3 of the corners (each at diff height - with lego block slideing etc).

Otherwise it was about 15 min ordeal (or less) on nice paved camping spots.

But since my driveway is not level and all the bad experiance I decided to install the Big Foot levelers myself. And Im sure glad I did.

Plus it dont bounce when walking around in the RV (that drove my wife crazy - lol).

Well, I'm starting out with the lego blocks and we will see how that goes. Thanks for your reply.

I've been using lego levelers (or wood equivalent in the past) for about 10 years now. They do tend to get chewed up in the gravel sometimes but when they get really bad I toss them in the recycle bin. I've gotten pretty good at getting level within about 10 minutes or less.

I have used the Anderson levels on two different travel trailers and now use them on my Four Winds 26B. Two for the duals and a single for the front. Works great for me.

I bought the blocks at camping world and they barely lasted a month. I then found the Camco ramps. I keep four in the RV. They've held up quite well.
