Unhappy Loud vibration when traveling

Hello all, we just bought our 2014 THOR ACE 30.1. We are traveling home and have a loud vibration noise that sounds like it is coming from outside front right by passenger. Near windshield. Nothing is loose. Any ideas?? Getting a headache from this!

I'd have my wheel check asap to make sure nothing is loose or to check possible bad wheel bearing. Don't wait on this one, could be important safety issue.

Were you getting any feedback through the steering wheel?
Does this occur at all speeds, or just within a specific set of parameters?

No steering issues. Mostly over 50 mph

You say near the windshield...can you tell if it's high up on the windshield or low near the dash. My concern is it could be wind lifting the roof of your RV if it has come loose from the front cap. I knew of a guy that had that happen. Might be worth getting on your roof and checking the seal where the cap meets the roof.

Wheel may be out of round

We had this in our prior RV, only at highway speed. Turns out the wheel was slightly out of round. Check it out when you check out steve76's suggestions. Took us three years to find it because mechanics checked lug nuts, tires, and bearings but never suspected the wheel itself. Good luck!

If you're not feeling anything through the steering it' not likely a wheel or tire issue. Wheel bearing going bad is easy to detect, the outer cap on the middle of the wheel would be very hot to the touch. If it were bad enough you'd smell it. Front engine cover latch not engaged would cause a vibration. Possible it's loosened over time and isn't tightened as it should be.

Another thing to check are the universal joints in the drive line. I had a vibration like yours in a large truck once. The problem was a seized universal joint. This is common in vehicles that sit idle for long periods of time regardless of low mileage.

If you have one of the folding desk tops on the passenger side, you can check and see if the seal is missing or broken which will let a lot of eng. and road noise inside.

I'm hoping that it just turns out to be a rock caught in the tire tread.

Trust me it's your front mud flap on your tires. It drove me crazy until I saw them inside dully and how it shoot up the tire tread take the dumb thing off before you have a blowout. And a mechanic promised me the left one would fall off to it's a terrible design

The Duallys have four mud flaps. The problem is the ones in front of the rear tires

Well we put new front tires on and got th front end aligned. Went to Myrtle beach and it seemed much better. Now coming home from Philadelphia the same thing. Vibrated all thr way home. Really gets on your nerves. Secured the mud flap and no difference. Not sure what to do now.....
