Mattress

We have an ace 29.4 king size bed and have been on the road for almost 2 years. It’s time to replace the mattress I have a bad back so need a sensible replacement. Can anyone help?
Thank you Sandie Nichols

RV mattresses are different sizes than regular Kings and Queens. Whatever you buy, keep that in mind.

I agree: Thor lists that King as 72" wide x 76" long
With that information: you can have fun shopping!

For a new mattress you may want to check out Denver Mattress. They do a lot of RV size mattress. You might alsomight just add a good foam topper, that worked for me.

Yup! A foam topper worked great for us!

You can probably find a mattress maker near you that can make a custom size with whatever features you want. There also are companies that specialize in RV mattresses. That said, a high quality topper did wonders for our bed too.

If you have the coach's electronics under the bed like my coach, an easily removable mattress is a must. The last trip the bedroom slide would go out 4" and stop never to move again in either direction. The controller for the slide is under the bed. I put the controller in to override and the slide moved fine. So, for the rest of the trip, I had to remove the mattress to get the slide out. The code is 9, so it is a short to ground for one of the hall effect transducers. I get to trace the wiring this weekend. Hopefully it wet connector at the motor.

I have to agree. The queen Denver mattress in our Axis 25.2 is great but we both like firm mattresses. It's firm but gives in all the right places. When a replacment is needed we would just get another Denver.

We also like them but they are terribly over priced. I did some research online and bought another brand that has performed quite well now for 10 years. It was bought from a business in South Florida and delivered from a factory in Nevada. Love the individual controller but it does lack those numbers that seem so important. Paid $500 for a queen size. That's for a real queen size, not rv queen size. Like the Denver mattress better though.

Sleep numbers can be spendy we paid 1200 for our current one. Because you can deflate them though we were able to get a longer mattress. I am 6’5 and the bedroom on our coach has a slide and without something that we could fold up my feet would hang over by a foot. The price sucks but the sleep number in our house is 20 years old so over time it works out.

Call Insider Mattress and talk to Sarah. They made our King Mattress and few inches longer and I added an extension to the end of our base. Looks great and supports the end so it doesn't sag. Love it, and if not satisfied, you only need to take it to a local Good Will or Salvation Army, get a receipt and they give you a full refund. No paying to return it. That is what sold me. We live it, as comfortable as our Temper Pedic and only 8 inches thick. Best improvement to our Windsport to date!!!!
