That is IMO the correct fix. Since 95%+ of what we watch is over satellite, the Seiki's are not a problem for us now. I do have in mind replacing them with the 32" Samsung's at some point.

We replaced the living area and bedroom tv's with Samsungs that have digital tuners but no smart function, picked them up at Best Buy for $159 each on sale. I had to make some modifications to the mounts, Samsung uses larger bolts. More than doubled our reception of over the air channels from the antenna. At some point I will probably replace the outside tv as well. Better picture now, worth the investment for us!

We replaced ours with a Samsung 32" Smart tv 1080p last month. Was on sale at Costco for 179.99 and really like the picture. Who do you use for a satellite provider?

We use Direct, have the winegard SWM traveler mounted on the roof. Push one button, give it a few minutes and it locks onto the three required satellites for HD. Had it on our previous coach, had dealer add it to this one. The Seiki's actually do ok with and HDMI HD feed, though their max resolution is 720, not 1080, the difference is detectable but not noticeable without really looking.

I thought, " Great, a name brand". The power supply (internal) totally crapped out less than a month after the warrenty expired. We then ordered a Vizio from Amazon. The picture quality, of that particular one at least, was terrible. So we went to Costco and found a LG that looked and worked great until we sold the RV several years later.

The only point of all this rambling is if you want to save yourself trouble, see it before you buy it.

I'd like to get one that has a slot for DVDs on the side. Guess then you would have a priority then, like say, 1st DVD if a disc is in, then Sat Tv, then Antenna but hey, why not?

We have stayed with the Seiki...even tho it is not our TV of choice..no it does not have QAM .. but we have not run into many RV parks which require it to deliver cable to the site. We have a couple cheap dvd players .. one in the living room and one in the bedroom..which serves us well...no not blue ray..but not a priority when camping. All is good ! Happy campers.

Yeah, I remember a long time ago when I worked on radios that used those tubes.

Yeah, I got my hands on a "suitcase" tube tester in `59. My mother worked at the Motorola plant potting transistors. The rest is history.

Yeah, both the places I worked at, that was what they used, military & civilian. One plane i worked on that used a 'box' with test tubes inside? If it didn't work, lift up one side a little & drop it. Then check it again. That didn't work, change it to the other three that it carried. 90% of the time this worked.

Yeah, many stories to tell. 1/4 of them are the truth. The other 3/4 has some elasticity there. Like saltwater Taffy.
