The New Thor Delano

Would this New Thor Delano be considered "Entry Level"? Thor promoting as "Luxury Series".
What should we expect? I really like the interior! Well I like outside also!

At $150k+ MSRP for a Class C I wouldn't classify it as "entry level".

Yeah I saw the Thor teaser on SAT. They will release it tomorrorw on line. My guess is its more upscale.

Perhaps even with Litium batteries?

To me the whole pricing thing is a joke. They will say $150K retail but you can pick it up "on sale" for like $95 or even $90K. I guess that sounds better to the consumers ears? "I have a $150K RV".

That $150k price tag could simply be because of the Mercedes chassis.

https://www.thormotorcoach.com/motor...lano-sprinter/

The paint job on the side certainly gives it a "raked" look.

LOL! They must still be working on the pages as many (like the specific floorplan ones) show a 404 error.

Check Thor's youtube channel today at 11am EST they are going to do a live walkthrough of a Delano.

I agree: The Sprinter chassis does add a fair amount to the bottom line...

But I think that it's worth the money to have one..

(I just got the email from Thor about this new RV.. I need some time to digest the info...)

..I agree with the new non swirl paint style looks more hip modern.
They could lose that upper stripe area. I think it makes the kitchen window look crooked? Would look better without that, a little simpler, cleaner.

Good point about price because Thor has other Sprinter Class Cs at lower MSRP. One difference is that picture is based on new Mercedes Sprinter chassis, which may explain some of the higher price.

The stripes on the full body paint option do not appeal to me at all. I don’t like swirls but stripes look way too busy.

An interesting detail from exterior Delano graphics is that additional floorplans may have already been developed. Notice that the two floorplans match the full paint graphics in layout, but the two HD-Max graphics have entry door, windows, and refrigerator vents in different locations. It also has a tall storage compartment at rear.

Thor may have just used previous art work and changed name, but I’d bet on other floorplans.

That paint scheme fell right off a 1984 z24 Chevy.
Remember when the Suzuki Samarai jeepish vehicle came out, and anyone broke could buy one if they also bought the $1,000 dealer installed graphics package? Replace the Trans Am black/gold with pink and green... There you are. Or, leave the Pontiac trans am 'burt reynolds/sally fields' smoky and the bandit' mullet sophiscated black/gold... There you are.

I'm not saying I dislike the paint on the new Thor, I think Thor has missed a subconscious trigger regarding cheap and gaudy that will trigger in some of us just passing sixty years old.

(it's just a little
Post disco
Pre new wave
1979 deco-ish
a litttttle bit: mullet)

But, I still see the AMC Pacer every time I see a grand Cherokee....(take a quarter shoulder look at a grand Cherokee, there it is.... The pacer)

Maybe a taste thing, maybe a really bad graphic package.
I've never really known what to think of the swirls. Disco silk dresses always pops into my head when contemplating the swirls.

This is just commentary as a 'things that make you go hhmmm' thing.
I wouldn't begin to know how to decorate something shaped like an rv.

Hey, based on the video they were responding to consumer comments when getting rid of the swoops and squiggly lines with the paint design. I must admit you see very few motorhomes without the squiggly line design unless an owner paid more for a solid color paint job.

I think they should try solid paint with one or two "racing stripes" down the side. Give buyers the option of three or four solid colors.

I LIKE it...
It's just that there are others that I like better!

But that's the beauty of this. There's no such thing as a "wrong" choice: if you pick the one that you like!

It appears to be an ill thought attempt to hide that VERY awkward roof line and that hideous bulge.

'if we draw a line here, and force the eyes move BELOW it, they'll never see that roof line.'
They're mostly right... When considering a casual glance, not a full contemplation.

But, based on the type of posts in this forum that smack of:
I don't know where the generator is in our new motohome

I guess many many only take a casual glance even when purchasing.

I sure hope that side window is just a really bad photo shop attempt...

Look at it from the side with a rear being front perspective. Looks like a hump back car from the 30's.

I like the “hump” because it’s functional. Basically a necessary evil on taller European vans.

Euro vans are much taller than Ford and Chevy vans, so placing a comfortable bed over the cab area will be impossible unless motorhome is made way too tall. The hump therefore makes overhead bed useable without adding to overall motorhome height. The aero shape of hump won’t affect fuel economy much either.

New topic of discussion around the campfire with an adult beverage or three: What is uglier, the Delano hump or the Outlaw wedge?

Make sure the beverage pool is well stocked because we may never get an answer.

What, no toasting smiley?

Has anyone looked at the Citation Sprinter or the Siesta Sprinter lately? They both have humps...

From a few that I looked at it appears the humps allow the overhead bunk to be raised (on a forward pivot point) so people can get in and out of the coach door without beating their heads against the bed.

Haven't been in one but that is what I see looking at pictures.
