Newbie with a furnace operation question Outlaw 38RF.

My wife and I have been living in our 2016 Outlaw for a couple of months now. We have recently needed to run the main furnace. We have two Dometic roof air conditioner units and thermostats with one of them having the furnace setting on it. Whenever we turn on the furnace, it seems to run fine and heats the coach nicely. The issue is the air conditioner associated with that thermostat also runs. The furnace will cycle, but the air conditioner runs constantly and defeats the purpose of having the furnace on. The Thor documentation is sadly lacking and does not say anything about this operation. Anyone else have a similar experience? Is my thinking wrong or is my coach's operation wrong?

Does your thermostat have 3 settings, cool, heat and auto? If so move it to heat only, this might bypass the A/C.
Call Thor, it should work OK on auto.

Had the same issue with my prior Class C. If thee fan switch on that thermostat is set to anything other than Auto the AC fan would run. Make sure your thermostat fan control is set to Auto and try again. In that case the answer to the problem was in the thermostat operator's manual.

Is it a heat pump? If so the ac will run but provide heat not cool. Also if it's a heat pump raising the thermostat 5 degrees or more above the room temp will start both furnace & heat pump.

Thanks for the replies. dstankov hit the nail on the head. For some reason, that thermostat had the fan set on Hi and not on Auto. Switched it to auto and things work like they should. Glad to have the furnace running without the AC.

AMAZING! And thank you. It’s 3am and in the 30s outside. I couldn’t figure out how to get the furnace to heat. The thermostat was set to high and not auto. My teeth have just stopped chattering!
