Ocala, FL: RV Propane
Anyone in the immediate Ocala area know of any good deals on propane in a place that'll service a fixed onboard propane tank? Want to get topped off. Would prefer to avoid 'town' and prefer west Ocala if possible.
Tried googling this. Coming up mostly Rhino. I'd really like to refill it myself but without a 'pump' the best I'll get is equalized pressure.

Thanks. I'll give them a call. If I remember correctly, their parking lot is awful tight and I'll have my towed.
Thanks either way.

Not sure about how good a deal they have, but the last time I filled up they have an easy drive up in and out for coaches:
Ocala RV Camp Resort (352) 237-2138
Just off I-75 on frontage road on west side of I-75.
Directions: From I-75, take Exit 350. Go west on Highway 200 for 1/8 mile to SW 38th Court. Turn right and go 1 block to SW 38th Avenue. Turn right and go 1/4 mile to the campground (on the left).

Thank you for this. I was getting really concerned that on-board propane refills in this Class C were going to be rare. I imagine I WILL get stranded without a few times along the way.
One thing you quickly learn about this lifestyle is adjust, adjust, adjust and then have a plan 'B', 'C' and 'D'
Just FYI - another place soon to have this service is Arrowhead ( https://www.campsitesarrowhead.com/). They're waiting for their permit. Was supposed to happen Friday but delayed. It's right off I-75 on 27.
Thanks again.

I tried to find a propane co. near the SW side as they would probably have lower prices than the campgrounds, but there is none near me. Also don't have a Flying J or Pilot near either.

Thank you. I don't see one either and you would think there would be. You have the Villages, Dell Webb and a plethora of other retirement villages along 200. Countless Snowbirds who do the commute in their RVs. Very strange. If you need a business idea, you'd could make a killing. Just sayin'
Funny - when I first got here I said to myself "Self, there's no Wawa. WTH? You should get a franchise". Low and behold, 4 months later a sign goes up - for a Wawa. Day late and a dollar short.
Anyway...seems the closest Pilot is there at I-75 and 326 and they DON'T do fixed tanks. Love's doesn't do it all.
Tractor Supply on 441 seems to carry it. Googled, there looks to be a propane tank and a convenient turnaround back on the left-hand side (looking at the store front) and you can get there without having to hit the tight, busy and narrow Ocala city roads.
I guess it's an extend-a-stay in a severe pinch. I just don't like lugging that extra tank around

Some of the Ace Hardware stores south of you have LP gas filling stations. You might check with the Ace near you. Just an idea...

Thank you. I contemplated those but I'm headed in the opposite direction. I found some on the way, just a little out of the way from my planned route. It's pay the price in propane or gas. Got a quarter?

Quick follow up: Tractor Supply is, by far, the cheapest but they CANNOT refill onboard propane tanks. Tanks must be 'detachable' from the RV.
Hope that helps someone else.

Just as a note, there is an app for your phone called "Propane Refill Station Locator" that will help you find RV friendly stations to fill propane tanks. It is a good starting point when I am traveling.

I would fill the tank at the first place I found that had the onboard facilities...period. Price is always a factor but a full tank sure helps the price become insignificant...especially if you're really low or out. When you're out, the only place you will find is the most expensive anywhere and you'll be glad to pay any price.

Must be unique to that Tractor Supply. We always refill our onboard tank at TS here in Lake City. You would have to disconnect the toad though as you pull up to the tank and then have to back out when done.
