Our trip to Thor repair in Wakarusa.

We just got back from the Thor repair facility in Wakarusa. It was a very good experience and has left me much more optamistic about our coach and Thor.
I don't intend to trash my dealer, but in the two days at the repair facility, things were fixed that had been attempted three times at the dealer. Nothing was done half way. One piece of sagging foam seal, let to completely resealing both driver and passenger side front windows with an upgraded rubber seal. They found and fixed things that I hadn't noticed. They system checked everything, inspected and sealed my roof. Brett was so through in the walk thru. Not just waiting for questions, but pointing out things to make sure we understood them. I am so pleased, our door finally shuts and latches properly!!

While it will probably be challenging to make the trip up, my hope is that I can use Thor to do my warranty work. I've read almost exclusively good experiences posted about them.

How long did it take you to get your appointment with them?

Do you happen to know if they will do add on work, like say putting solar panels on roof and stuff like that?

I first inquired about an appointment in May. I could have had an appointment the 2nd week of june. We chose the july appointment date. They do advertise doing upgrading work. Not sure of the specifics, but I'm sure a call to customer service would confirm what they would do.

I'm still waiting on the delivery of my coach, but I do plan on reaching out to them both to schedule an appointment to deal with the inevitable factory issues as well checking to see what type of add ons they do.

For non-warranty work the sign says $100/hr (at least it did back in Feb when I was there).

From what I gather that's a better hourly rate than many dealers.

You also have parts readily available and a great professional staff. I have made three trips from Massachusetts because I wanted the job done right and Camping World just wasn't cutting it.

I had previously read that and all sounded good except for the window still leaking...

Did you ever get that addressed?

Yes: I removed the screws holding the window frame on (the inside screws) and found one that had pierced the window frame. I filled the screw hole with sealant, sealed up a bunch under the window and reassembled it. No more leaks.

Now that you mention it, I remember reading you talk about that in a thread.

factory service

Hope we make out, will be there next week. Going over from Connecticut. How long did you stay? We also have the door closing problem, among about 40 other items. Happy to hear you got all repaired.

The length of your stay is highly depended upon the amount of work you have them do (more work = longer stay). One of the fellow campers there with me back in Feb left because his coach was going to take weeks to repair (it had some serious problems--like the roof caved in from a leak).
