I think the reason the factory doesn't 'pre cut' these is because they are much less likely to move, or the edges become an issue, if they are not. A carpenter's knife is an easy tool to use whenever you will ever need to access it.

I can see the panel screws from underneath but when I took it to Freightliner for a possible cooling system leak, their question was how do we get to the engine? Which was my question - how do you get to the top of the engine.

BTW, if you could get to it, an oil filler tube would be an awesome add-an! Fortunately Freightliner did not have to cut the floor! I'd take the trim with a rug over it any day, (just to have the access if needed) as we have a rug there regardless of the trim ring or not!

and then you would have a real mess getting trim and a hatch handle installed - may do this when I get my coach back.
