If we don't get more, (from both members, moderators, and administrators), this forum will soon be history.

It has been awfully quiet here since crossroads forum went back online.

It might be boring here but we have staying power and not plans to shut the doors anytime soon. Thor Forums will remain online and continue as a FREE resource for all Thor product owners for many many years.

I founded my first forum over a decade ago for Airstream Trailer Owners and it's still going strong. The biggest issue for a forum owned and operated by a manufacturer is trying to manage the community while not letting a conflict of interest get in the way. It's a fine line and all too often a few complaints escalate and the manufacturer doesn't know if the forum is an asset or liability.

Having been managing online forums for many years, we understand that owners need a neutral place to chat while at the same time things need to remain factual and positive since most of the members are fans of the brand.

We understand forum users make a personal investment in time and where they decide to "hang out" online. It's hard to get someone to switch from one community to another so we'll just have to be happy with slow growth in hopes that one day we can pick up some steam and make this place more vibrant.

It would be great if you all read something interesting to share it here. Anything to get some topics and conversation going would be great. It would very reward to look back in a few years and see what we accomplished together!

As a brand new Thor ACE owner, I really hope this forum is here to stay. I frequent other forums but am glad there is one for Thor owners.

We just bought a 2013 Hurricane 29x, and found this site for owners. We had a winnie view, but wanted something bigger. I don't have any questions yet,but will continue to read this forum and add when I can. thanks

Exclamation Hurricane 29x Low Point Drains

I am getting ready to winterize myself and want to know where the low point drains are. I know I can scooch around underneath until I see them, but was hoping someone could just tell me. Thanks ahead of time!

@AndyR - Is there an option in the software for the forum that can add "thumbs up", a la FB, to a post rather than, no, in addition to the Thanks response (speaking as a SysOp of a looking ago BBS). I've seen the feature on other forums before.

That said, I came across this forum earlier this year when my desire to RV again returned after retirement and my role as a long term caregiver ended. The knowledge I gleaned from the collective wisdom help to solidify that desire to when I purchased a new Axis in July. I felt qualified and comfortable going into the PDI. I owe a HUGE thank you to Ed Felker but also to the users that have bought Thor products with warranty issues. We love the Axis plan...wait for it...but , the problems we had, right out of the shoot and at the beginning of a 2500 mile trip (dash air failed, August!) pale in comparison to the miserable treatment of Camping World's warranty work! And still we love the coach, should we ever get it back. :Rant off.

I enjoy the forum, not just us complainers, but the personalities of folk committed to a life style that welcome noobees with consideration and engage in the sharing of their experience and wisdom. Thank you.

Funny! The Thanks button was added because people wanted a thumbs up. It is the thumbs up (or like, etc.).

A forum is only what the members make of it...
If you want an active exchange of ideas and opinions: DON'T just sit there reading; start typing!
Over the years, I've been involved in a variety of open forums.
Some of them were boring "nuts & bolts" places, where nobody shared anything of themselves.
Others were more a wide-open "Office Party" style... Folks would still offer advice on what to do, and how to do it... but they'd also share something of themselves.
It was a really fun place! But you know what? We NEVER heard from the moderators. The members would police themselves, and step in if a conversation needed to be toned-down a notch.
Of course there were rules about forbidden topics and posts. But even in the middle of election seasons: we'd find ways to allow for folks to discuss differences, and "agree to disagree"!
And the "Joke of the Day" threads were AWESOME!

gnach, We bought our Axis in January of 2016 at Giant RV. Very happy once the factory one year warranty was over and we can take it to a smaller RV repair business even closer to our home. Giant RV was not impressive when it came to their repair work. I have stuck my head into the service bays at our local Camping World and I can say that it reminded me of one of those fast oil change businesses.

I'm here several times a day. I offer whatever experience and expertise I have. Sometimes I offer an opinion when asked.

This forum is dedicated to Thor products, which is a good thing as it tends to focus on problems and solutions for which most of us are familiar. It is unlike other forums where you have to wade through pages of nonsense to find a kernel of anything of interest. I appreciate this forum and hope it remains a viable source of information for all of us.
