Quantum RQ29 house batteries

Had the RV for 11 months. House batteries not holding charge. Repair shop confirms that I batteries will not hold charge. Thor says will not cover. What is best approach. I will install new batteries, but since the RV is still under warranty why won’t Thor take ownership of the problem.

If dealers do not keep a coach on shore power or service the batteries every 30 days, the batteries will be damaged by sitting on the lot. Thor MC dealer agreement states that the coach will be fully charged and the batteries service every 30 days which you should also do. It is your dealer fault not Thor Motor Coach. During your PDI you should have demanded a battery load check before leaving the lot. That is the only to know you have good batteries to start with. Most of us have learned that lesson the hard way.

The batteries may carry their own warranty...most have a 1 or 2 year "free replacement" period. If you can determine the brand and find a dealer that carries that brand...maybe they will replace them. It would depend on how they qualify the "in service" date.

But most battery warranties exclude damage due to misuse or neglect. They can tell if it’s sulfated. That said, some will replace anyway as a goodwill gesture and to avoid an argument. My OE house (and chassis) batteries lasted nearly 4 years with the chassis failing first.

Thanks. I will buy new batteries. Not worth the effort and aggravation of dealing with CW. Been there done that!

I just replaced mine and there was not one sticker on the batteries, i guess thor didn't want you to know what they were?
