rear view mirror

has anyone removed the wind shield mirror in their Class C.
The mirror in a Class C really makes no sense. I want to install one of those Dash Cams on the windshield in place of the mirror

Not me; it's a great place to mount our E-Z Pass.

By the way: Welcome to the Forum!

where would you hang your furry dice???

theres a little allen screw holding it in place.... but the mount is glued on...it would take some work to remove the metal mount... but sometime they just fall off..

When we had our class C, I used the inside rearview to keep an eye on our grandsons, when they were with us...and those two certainly needed to be watched!

I wish I had an interior rear view mirror in my Vegas. Have been thinking about installing one.

I use it all the time....sometimes to be able to see what that crash sound I just heard was... or to see what the family is doing.

The viewing angle is very limited though so it's not really great for this job, but occasionally when it's bumped out of alignment from removing the windshield curtain or whatever, I find myself very "out of balance", not being able to see all around.... and will always realign it. It's sorta the same feeling I get when I'm hauling something in my pickup truck that obscures the rear window.

Anyway, I haven't really considered removing it, except that I have considered replacing it with a better mirror, perhaps like bus drivers have to better see inside the bus

So funny. I was driving in northern Italy going up to Lake Cuomo in some tiny little rented Opal with three hamsters and and a parakeet under the hood. I had it floored and it was going as fast as it possibly could. I feel a lurch and think “Seriously, this has less power than a scooter and it has a governor on it!??” Then I feel another and I’m like “that doesn’t feel right....” I look in the rear mirror and there is an Audi literally bumping the back of the Opal to get me out of the way. At highway speeds. I could see him waving one hand and yelling at me as he repeatedly “encouraged” me out of the way. I nearly dropped a cannoli in my pants, if you catch my drift. Second rule of Italian driving: they are craaaaaazy.

I thought the same about the rear view mirror in our class C.
Then, I thought maybe I could transform it to hold my GPS, it'd be a good spot.
Because they do have a little set screw holding them in place.
one day...

BTW, hold a soldering gun on the glued on mount for the mirror for a few seconds, not on the glass.
It will expand and be easy as pie to remove, then with a plastic frying pan scraper, remove the glue, voila!
