Replacing bad blower motor, ACE 30.1 and probably others
My AC and heater blower motor went out. I found the source for the replacement, after a long search, $60.00 shipped instead of $300 shipped through dealer. Can be gotten at 4 Seasons auto parts, part number 35671. Replacing was a b*&(h, but got it done. Remove the computer tray lid, remove the computer tray, and you can see down into the blower mounting area. 3 chrome plate screws go into the plywood former on the right side of the font panel. Those have to come out using an angle adapter for your drill and the appropriate square head screw driver. After they are out, the right side of the panel will swing back. Yes, you will hear some snapping and cracking in the process of moving the right side back about 3 inches, but once back together everything is still snug. Then you can remove the small hex head blower retaining screws that will let the blower motor and squirrel cage back out and down. Reverse the process and you will have saved yourself about 800 bucks and down time on your thor. Be very careful to not bend the squirrel cage as you back out the blower motor from the housing. The squirrel cage can then be removed and remounted on the new blower motor. Good luck and PM me if you have questions.
