So I had a discussion with Thor technical support and he stated that my TV is compatible and should work. So I will try the right settings next time.

We had an Axxis in our thor fe30. What a piece of junk....
We put a small Samsung on the bedroom and replaced the main with a Roku TV. LOVE it. Great reception, clear picture and we can stream.
Next to be replaced is the out door and the piece of junk Axxis radio...

Our first motorhome was a 2016 Thor Ace 29.3 and we replaced all three tv's with Vizio from Walmart at Myrtle Beach, SC when Ocean Lakes Campground had updated their cable system. If you have Seiki tv's, no matter what settings you try or turning off the antenna booster switch, they do not have a QAM tuner and they will not work on digital cable. We never had another problem at any campground once we replaced the tv's. I contacted Thor about the Seiki tv's and was told they were not aware of the problem. I told them next time put in reputable tv's and charge a little more if they must.

Right on!!!!

If you only need the TV’s to broadcast local over-the-air stations or connect to your DVD player...they are acceptable.
But that’s it.

Don’t expect anything else.

Seiki TV also work fine with Dish or DirecTV satellite receivers. I find the Seiki small screen picture fidelity is better than the more expensive TVs with the exception of the OLED TVs.

Carole
So how much work was involved with the swap out?

It’s a fairly straight-forward job to remove the four screws from the TV attached to the mount bracket.
The challenge is whether the new/replacement TV’s have the same (or similar) mounting holes.
Or
If a new mount needs to be added as well

Also to consider: there might be a button near a coax cable connection somewhere in your coach. When pressed and lit it makes for over air connection, and when off it makes for better cable connection. Or vice versa. Or maybe it's all irrelevant. I wish they made manuals that were specific to the vehicle you own.
Just experiment.

Great buy.
In 1995, that flat screen would have cost you $15,000 and it wasn't even HD

I noticed this weekend that my Seiki tvs only searched for RF channels regardless of whetheir or not it was on cable or air. I'm assuming that this is an indication of no QAM receiver. But I know from my previous rig that even on antenna your channel choices are increased on digital reception. is there an RF/ Digital switch I'm missing somewhere?

Thanks for any help

Just a quick update. We installed the Vizio the other day and it is quite a substantial upgrade. Lots of cool features and I can pair it to my personal hotspot to watch anything. Haven’t stayed at a campground with cable yet but When I do I will update.

All channels are RF. The difference is Digital or Analog with the cable band of RF channels being different than the OTA band of RF channels.

I connected cable from park directly to Thor Ace 30.1 cable connection. I turned antenna booster off. I changed from Air to Cable on the Main Seike TV Menu. I have the Source set to TV. From there nothing but “no signal” on screen. Any help greatly appreciated.

Three words…
No QAM Tuner

Look it up
Saeki TV’s cannot receive digital cable signal becuz they do not have a QAM Tuner.
If the RV park has Standard Definition Cable, Seiki works great

But many of the parks have upgraded to digital signal so Seiki no-work.

One more step - SCAN for the channels. If none found then you have one of the No QAM Tuner Seiki TVs.

So, some Seiki sets seem sorta sucky in some situations, but no can scan some signal band due to no QAM.

I actually had zero knowledge of QAM and digital signals, so thanks ya'll for posting.

Thank you

I've said it before; I'll say it again:

Roku Smart TV
You pick the brand and size
Provides an interactive cable-like TV guide for OTA channels
If connected to the internet has it's own set of streaming channels
Can add and remove more apps that any other smart TV
Can play the sound through your smartphone or smartphone connected headphones
