Question Sewer Sensor problem

Sensors on panel show half full when I'm empty. Is there anyway to fix this? We need to pull our rig out to empty. We have a 2014 Thor Challenger.

Common problem regardless of rig. The sensors get dirty and give false readings. I’ve cheap thing is to pour a lot of ice in the toilet and drive around. Preferably bumpy with turns. No kidding.

Always best to have 3/4 full before emptying and use a lot of water. We use dawn also to suds it up somewhat. It will always be a challenge.

Yep as Yaktop says the sensors are usually off. A little TP on a sensor and the reading is bogus. Even my gray water sensors are a bit funky. Right after a dump they still show 2/3 till the sensors dry off. After 25+ years of RVing DW and I have a feel for how full the tanks usually are. Only time we had an issue was when the G-kids were little, those kids sure did use the water fast.

I have that the same issue, I guess it is not full enough to adequately clean the sensors, although we haven't tried the ice part, next time...

Solution to having to pull out to dump, is a portable dump caddy, get one that has decent sized wheels on it and a long tongue!

Try giving it the "Calgon & ice cubes treatment"...
Put about five gallons of water in the tank, and add four or five bags of ice cubes, and about a half-bottle of Calgon.
Take it for a ride, and let the mixture slosh around in there for a couple of hours.

Good luck!

I installed this for $15 and have not experienced your problem again.
(Noticed that the price recently went up, doubled on Amazon...China tariffs?)

.. With a prune juice chaser!

That Tornzdo Black Tank Rinser looks to mimic the an-T-Flush system, that is often factory installed in the newer rigs...

I second the Calgon comment. Dish washer detergent doesn't generate sooo many suds and dumps easier. Even dried soap scum can cause your sensors to misread. If you have a back flush system, use it. If not, dump in half box of dish washer detergent and ice cubes. That should do the job.

Just a side note, it helps to put in 5 to 10 gallons of water when prepping your toilet tank.

I usually empty the tanks when leaving the campground. Then add the dish washer detergent and ice cubes and head for home. I add water end dump one more time at the interstate rest area near home.

Calcon is expensive. I use Arm & hammer washing soda. Sodium carbonate. You can get it at any store cheap
