If you are talking about getting on Skyline Drive from I64 in Virginia and heading north, there is one tunnel measured at 12' 8" . Our Vegas rolls through easily (one of the reasons I love it). If you have a monster bus, you can get off at Swift Run gap and get back on at Thorton gap. I've seen some larger rigs go through the tunnel driving the middle of the road but I wouldn't recommend it.

Yeah, Our Miramar is supposed to be 12'6", I would hate to find out the hard way that one of the measurements was 3" off the wrong way. Usually they mark them at the lowest point however, on the outer edge if it's an arched tunnel. the middle would have more.

Has anyone had experience driving in the mountains ? Do you use all brakes down hill or does it help to use lower gears ?

Use Tow/Haul mode: In Tow/Haul going downhill tapping the brake causes the transmission to downshift. Works out quite well (Tow/Haul is engaged by tapping the button on the end of the shifter).

Thank you for that info. Being from the New Orleans area, our mountains are overpasses !!

I wouldn't worry to much about the hills in the Appalachian Mtns. They are nothing to worry about.
