Shore line power cord getting hot at connectors
We were camping in Branson last couple of weeks and one night I happened to feel the power cord and it was hot to touch where the cable hooks up to the motor home inside where it plugs into coach. I took it apart and could see where it was a little discolored any suggestions. I have a 2016 Thor challenger 37kt.

In my experience, when a plug heats up like that, you're drawing more amps than the connection can handle. Is it hot at the pole or the RV?

Those infrared hand held thermometers are great for logging or diagnosing trouble spots in your rig or at home. Last week I could tell the RR caliper was out on my Jeep in 20 seconds also found some bad wiring at my panel @ home by the temp. rise. Low cost and Very handy.

It would be a good idea to remove the socket and check that the wires inside (to the auto transfer switch) are tight. I've meant to but ...
Also Mike Sokol has several articles on power pedestal saf practice, inspections, etc. Here's one about loose connections.

Is the connection to the RV a Twist lock? Did you turn it to the right? Did you install the locking ring? Burning is caused by loose connections. Remove the outlet at the RV and check connections on the back side.

The 50 amp coaches seem to get the twist-lock setup.
I'm not sure about the 30 amp rigs...

Same thing happened to me in AZ a couple years ago. I noticed the cable getting hot and then no power shortly after. Removed the receptacle off the side of coach and found the wires loose and the receptacle partially melted. It wasn't melted so much that I could not use it, so tightened all the wire connections, installed it till I got home from trip and replaced it. I had the transfer switch almost melt down due to loose and improper connections also, and have since gone thru every connection I could find to make sure they were secure. Don't forget the junction box on gen and HWH.
I think I bought a kit koach. I think it is mostly fixed now.

That is a standard 50 amp RV connection. Newbies and non-handy types do not know you must twist it to the right and install the locking ring. If you don't do that it will get hot and burn up. They come in 30 amp also.

Not tightening it; could easily be one possible cause.

I would take things apart as suggested but also if the blades look dull shine them up with some steel wool or similar. also try some NOALOX-4-oz-Anti-Oxidant-Compound

Look t prongs on plug. Are they dirty, corroded?

whatever anyone says its caused by current draw being too high. This had a coupel of cause. Bad connection in the plug causing restistance as mentioned above is one. The voltage at the pedastal is too low or you are running too many appliances at once like A/C hot water, etc.
