Frustrated / Batteries / Generator

I'm back.
I am new so bare with me. I put my battery disconnect switch to the store mode when I left my MH at the storage facility. When I returned a few days later I tried to start the generator and it was dead. Would not even turn over as though it had no electric to start. I started the coach engine and waited a minute and tried the generator and it started with no problem. I remain confused as to what I'm doing wrong. Am I using the battery disconnect switch wrong ? This is the switch next to the steps !!
When I have power the battery light on the control panel says the batteries are full. HELP !!!

The "Store/Use" switch does not disconnect the battery from all loads, just "hotel" loads. If you must store your coach with no connection to power you will need to install a real, manual disconnect switch to your batteries to prevent them from being run down.

Or disconnect the battery cable on the coach batteries. The are several items, CO/LP sensor, clocks, electric slide motors, that don't go through the disconnect

Another option is to use the 50 amp disconnect next to the house batteries in the battery box. Just push the yellow or red button and make sure the "flag" is showing and your house batteries are disconnected from the coach. To reconnect, just push the "flag" back into the box and the batteries are reconnected to the coach.

I feel your pain. I too am new to RVing. I have a '16 Thor Ace 21.7
As many folks on this site have testified, my factory batteries were sub par and I had to put new ones in to start my 2nd season. I've been trying to be careful about storing properly. The diagram shows that the "Use/Store" switch drops power to the coach distribution fuse box.
(On mine)No lights, no radios, no detectors, no slides but I did note that my generator could still be started! So much of what can and can't be powered relies on the guys hooking up the wires during the build. So we will have to be resourceful and thorough in learning how ours is done and whether anything needs to be changed for safety or proper functionality.

Its maybe ur solenoid which deals w/ battery disconnect. My new 2017 chateau 22B is in shop. My disconnect switch worked interminably. That is it got stuck off. Played with it luckily it finally came back on. Issue became apparent when we could not turn on radio for the back!up camera. We also had full battery charge, but when we disconnected from shore line, all 12volt stuff died immediately including backup camera, as radio gets power from house battery not truck battery

If you look inside the battery compartment you'll find a breaker with a red button. Push the red button and a yellow arm will pop down, batteries are now completely disconnected. To reset push the yellow arm back up till it clicks, batteries are now reconnected. Hope this helps!

Yes that's right. Evidently the only stuff powered by the engine battery is the engine, headlights and that sort of stuff. I guess that's to help guard against running it down via any camper type usage. You wouldn't want to be stranded anywhere for sure.
