Snowbirds Overnight !-95 in NC & SC

We'll be heading out around 4 Jan from Mount Joy PA (near Lancaster) heading to Tampa. We plan on staying in FL until the end of Mar. We'll be following I-95 all the way until we hit Jacksonville. Generally we drive about 300 miles a day and then get off the Interstate and stay in an RV Park with full hookups.

We'll drive from PA to our daughter's in Suffolk VA. We'll stay with her about 2 days and then start the trek to FL.

We generally stay in a park in NC, SC, and then in southern GA. Don't have any particular ones we always stay at. Usually base it on how far we feel like driving.

So I have a question for any snowbirds that have already made the trek south along I-95. With all the flooding they had in NC & SC from the hurricane -- have you found many RV Parks that normally handle snowbird traffic closed because of flood damage? We've never boon docked or did Walmart overnights and I prefer one night rest stops in a park with water & electric hookup.

Thanks in advance for any inputs

I just left Charleston and the parks are open there to I-95 as you take I-26 from the coast. You may wish to call the respective state tourism bureau; a park or two close to I-95 in each state, at the north and middle and south ends of the state, or some other source/directory/internet site you may already be using.

I stayed overnight at South of the Border when I was bringing my Vegas home. I bought it in Pt St Lucie. It's a Good SAMs place

We stayed two nights at Palmetto Shores RV Resort in I-95 about 5 miles before you reach I-95. It's right on Lake Marion just off the freeway. Very nice park with mostly pull-thru sites. There's an excellent restaurant right next door (check hours and days open). Also, if you have a toad, just across the bridge over the lake (3 minutes) is Santee, SC. Lots of little shops, a great steak house, a Cracker Barrel and a few other places to eat. This place would be worth hammering on down a little and make it a two or three night stop. We loved it and will go back when passing through that area.
