Tentative plans for the rally:
This is a very casual meet and greet. Its do what you want or do nothing. The main objective is to hang out and get to know each other
My plans so far:
Thursday night Buffet dinner at the casino. All you can eat lobster.
Saturday night Buffet at the casino with the group. I know some of you are not getting to the cg until Friday SO this is a good time for the group to eat there.
Sunday group breakfast. I have a blackstone griddle. So its bring your own eggs pancakes etc. and I'll cook it for you
The bbq dinner will depend on who has portable gas grills. If we have a couple then its bring your own meat chicken and me or someone will cook it for you. Most likely a little pot luck side dish also
The buffets are up to each family. Thursday for us for sure all you can eat lobster yummy. Any other will again be up to each family
THe main purpose for the rally is to meet and just fun hang out in a group.
The area has golf courses, wineries, and shops.
Maria and I plan to hit the shops and have lunch in town. Not sure what day yet but she has already told me we are doing this.Jerry

We hope to take a jaunt over to palmsprings for some Mid-century-lux antiquing.
No plans other than that, and those plans are only 35% unless someone else wants to tempt us....
Just a heads up incase someone collects palmsprings type stuff.

Suggest Cargo Freight and Consignment in Rancho Mirage, near Palm Springs. They have an amazing array of mid century and modern furniture and items. Fun shop.

I called the cg to see if we can get a group rate and if we can use a club house. They have two club houses that have bbqs. The answer call back and talk to the boss. She works this Sunday so I'll be calling her.
My guess is they will want at least ten reservations for a group rate. But they already have a group that weekend and usually they only take one group per weekend. But I'll try to sweet talk her and see if she'll do it for us
The good news is there are still plenty of sites open. So hopefully we'll get a few more member to come

So I called the cg and no group rates for two reasons. They already have a group there and group rates need to be set up before making reservation. So that's out.
They have a bbq area that must be reserved. Its a first come first served deal. She said if we want to do a group bbq someone, me most likely, need to come to the office first thing in the morning and reserve it $20 deposit that is refunded if the area is cleaned up by the group. I don't see this being a problem.
So as a group we need to decide if we want to do this and which day
My opinion which does mean much is we do it on Sunday night
We can change the breakfast at my site to Saturday morning.
Any thought on this????
Ill check with the three or four people who don't visit the forum much and see what they think.
Please let me know your thoughts.

I really really like to trade stuff.
I'll be bringing some trinkets such as
Chrome cast
Firestick
Working (ha!) Axxera radio and remote
Led headlight bulbs
A new dash cam (or two)
A non working (needs batteries which require a bit of surgery) in the box older 16 wheel tps system.
Just stuff.
I have sooo... Much... Vintage/museum Scuba stuff to trade if anyone cares, send a pm.
I'm an easy touch for 1961-ish luxury small items like lighters and ashtrays and TV lamps. Not Googie, and not mid century 50's colonial.
Also post WW2 1946 or 1947 of the same type things, plus aluminum bodied power tools of the era.
(my shop isn't normally this messy. Tearing apart the 24.1 and insulating takes a LOT of space)
