Sprinter chassis battery isolator

One month of owning my 2012 Thor citation sprinter we realized that the house batteries we're not being charged while driving. Our dealer claimed they were advised by Thor that they don't place isolators on Mercedes-Benz chassis. After contacting Thor customer service myself they explained that that is not the case. The isolator is located underneath the driver seat. This was a cheap easy fix . I upgraded to a Bussmann isolator. I can't blame the dealer because someone at Thor did tell them wrong info. Or miscommunications. While I was researching I upgraded to a Progressive dynamics 60 amp converter charger. I also A battery monitor display.

Under the seat... I'll have to check out mine!
It seems that you've made some worthwhile upgrades: Congratulations!

A little update after receiving the bussman isolator and reading the instructions I felt it might interfere with the sprinters smart alternator. I returned it and ordered on Amazon the exact replacement isolated that Thor had provided $32.. So far works like a charm.

I think you'll find that the industry is a little concerned about placing additional hardware and technology on the Mercedes chassis since it could void the warranty, since it's already a 'complete' vehicle when it arrives at the factory, unlike Ford and Freightliner raw chassis that the factory 'completes' during the build, adding the necessary 'additional' RV type devices and products.
A salesperson at a RV dealership could have some Mercedes chassis' from one brand do something differently than another does, so the confusion is not uncommon.

Could you share where you found the battery monitor?

I have one I was going to put in my VEGAS, however, the one in your photo has a much better look to it!

Amazon Mictuning 6.5-100v LCD digital display.I used a black outlet plate that I got from Lowe's and cut out the center with a dremal so that the digital display fit inside. I then cut the hole in the panel with my oscillating saw. Measure 10 times cut once.. I got the black screws from the hardware isle.

When I replaced my battery isolator I thought I would be proactive and install an in-line 30 amp circuit breaker. Today I tripped the breaker two times . I'm thinking I used to small of a breaker I really not sure why I chose a 30 amp breaker. The charge controller is a 60 amp rating all the cables connecting the battery Are 4 gauge. I like the idea of having a circuit breaker between the house batteries and the coach batteries. Can anyone recommend a circuit breaker size that would be appropriate.
