SuperD: did you install a stabilizer on your 29M? I have a 29M, purchased last August and have found some challenges with wind. Semper Fi

No I haven't installed yet, on my list of things to do after I retire the end of May. I have read and done a lot of research on stabilizers, Safe T Plus is the best on the market, period!

My service provider is recommending the TruCenter system by Blue Ox...based on reviews, that one doesn't seem to be what I'm seeking.

The Blue Ox is a great unit but, it is more than twice the price of the Safe T Plus and requires 12 v to operate. More complicated and more to go wrong.

I am also a big fan of the Safe T Plus. Spent the winter in Baja where the roads are narrow with no shoulder and big trucks. It was stressful driving but I can't imagine doing it with out the stabilizer. IMO the Safe T Plus also helps when prevent steering wander you hit pot holes (plenty in Baja).

Installed the Safe-T-Plus on my Freedom Elite 26HE today. Aside from needing to run and buy an 18mm socket for the Ford sway bar bolt it was straight forward and only took about an hour. It was very close to proper adjustment straight away but I'm rather particular so it took about 3 tries to get it totally correct. I think I'm going to like it but the test will be the next month touring western states.

I also mounted a spare tire and cargo carrier to the hitch receiver, tried out my TPMS and installed a black water tank flushing device. I think we're ready to roll!

One of the things I have always disliked about Ford is they always overpower the steering, hard to feel when it's on center.

In 6 days mine will be installed, in 7 days I am confident I will be able to post how happy I am with the improved handling.

According to my son (master mechanic at Ford), there is no center position of the steering with the heavy duty chassis. They don't use a rack and pinion system that allows for a center position, but employ a recirculating ball system (worm and sector, and this system has no defined center except the one given by the caster of the wheels. And yes, the power steering is supposed to overcome this.
All the steering assist systems available for the F53 chassis try to create an artificial center feel by increasing the resistance to move a way from the defined center.
The Steer Safe I have installed is doing this with the help of four heavy duty springs that try to keep the wheels centered.
