Telescopic Ladder

I have a new 2017 Thor Axis 25.2 and because it has a rear slide there is no roof ladder. I just bought a 12'6" telescopic ladder with carrying case on Ebay for $65 free shipping. When not extended it's only 36 inches. I'm impressed by how sturdy and durable this ladder is. It easily fits in the back carrying compartment. See pictures...

hpiersma can you provide the manufacturer info for that ladder or a link to the eBay page? We have been looking at the telescoping ladders as well for our 25.2 and have found some are very flimsy, so hearing a good endorsement for one may save us a lot of looking.

There's a lot on eBay. I picked this for a good price and free shipping. It arrived in only a couple days. Very sturdy. Since the Axis is 10', I went with 12'6" to go higher. I think this will work good for waxing the sides too...

I've had one of these ladders for years and love it. Tip: spray the slides with silicone spray occasionally to keep the ladder working smoothly.

I have had my 14 foot telescoping ladder for about 10 years now and use it more often than the ones that have been mounted on my motorhomes to access the roof.

That's an awesome price. Hard to tell if all of these are the same thing or not. I felt comfortable at $65 free shipping and knew I'd get it on a couple days because of the location. It came with a nice carrying case too.

It looked to be the same image as displayed on the eBay link. If not, I will post a warning ASAP. It had the same specs.

I bought the same one. It's on it's way. Im always amazed at how the reviews can differ. Most reviews were 4 and 5. I hope it's a good one. I don't have a very good reputation when it comes to ladders.

Amazon has multiple vendors that can sell at any price they desire. I bought this two days ago at the $29 price and the ad said that vendor had six in stock. They must have sold out. I have not received the product yet, but if it does not match the information in the ad, I will just return.

Copied from my amazon order page....

I use the same 12.5 foot ladder on our Vegas 25.2, and had used it on the 33' Class A we had before. It didn't have a rear ladder, either. A collapsible ladder will never feel as stable as a solid or extension ladder, but it feels sturdy enough for me.

That ladder is available at your big box camping store, for about $300! It pays to shop!

I like having a 6 foot folding step ladder for the windshield, but haven't replaced the one that broke last summer. Cheapest I've found run around $117, here's a pic:

I use that same ladder for our Sunguard windshield cover.

Telescopic Ladder

The telescopic ladders are great, until the damage they cause by leaning against the side destroys paint, plastic, fiberglass, roof material, or the gutter channel. And, you really don't want to see what happens if you lean against the front or rear cap.

They were designed for residential use, not RVs.

Seen many of the telescopic ladders mangled in the trash bin right after their owners threw a fit once they noticed the damage caused.
I plan to wrap the top portion of mine in foam before using, but if that doesn't work, I still have an inexpensive ladder to use otherwise.

Telescoping ladder

We found a ladder that telescopes but is also a folding ladder. Similar to the one pictures here. In motorhome that is currently getting warranty work done. Should have it back in a couple weeks to take photo and remember brand. It stores in a bag as well will measure when motorhome comes home.

I have always wrapped the top of the ladder with an old beach towel. You do need to be careful if you're leaning against the front or rear cap. The damage is caused by the owner, not the ladder!!!

Got my telescoping ladder today. Paid $29.99 at Amazon. I liked it, and I have certainly been on worse. I went to buy another one for one of the kids and I see the price went up to $73 bucks. I usually research to the point of procrastination, but this time I got lucky.
