Never Trust your GPS?

Especially in the mountains, in winter. 6 minute video. I can imagine the sounds from the co-pilot seat if I was making this particular drive.

I believe what President Reagan said is true: "Trust; but verify."
We trust the GPS... But verify with actual maps.

Yup, us too. Garmin is a trusted partner but the lady that lives in there makes mistakes like the rest of us. We confirm with a map.

I also use streetview a lot prior to embarking on the trip.

One more vote for "trust but verify." We'll usually pre-plan a route as much as possible but also always keep a card copy print atlas handy for those inevitable side trips.

Thing is... this sounds like a planned route (from limited information from the AAA); and may have been just fine most of the time. "Failure to account for weather and consider alternate routes" might have been a more appropriate header for my original post.

BTW: my co-pilot says she will walk down the mountain in the dark; rather than riding along and videoing if I ever attempt something like this.
