Thor Axis 24.1 dump hookup

I have a Thor Axis 24.1 with a very hard to get to Dump area. It is inside a bin that has a door . when you pull up on the grey and black water dump levers, you end up with a bruised arm. all of a sudden they let go and your arm is inside the door. I love my RV but there's bound to be a better way. any Ideas out there. Thanks, Ederd

Get a door holder from Amazon; could be as simple as:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The issue isn't the door falling down and hitting your arm (hint the hinge is at the bottom, not the top). The issue is the small area.

So far we haven't had such an issue. Our valves and outlet have loosened up over time (the outlet rotates if you haven't figured that out already).

You could always install a Flexible cable kit (Amazon)--not sure where you'd route the cables to; perhaps the black tank hatch or the propane door (looks like the cable is 6' long would have to measure..).

Electric valves are always an option too.

Vegas dump hole

I cut the hole where your connection to the revolving outlet is quite a bit larger so you can get your hands around the pipe and move it up and down. I keep a piece of rubber mat (piece of mud flap to cover the hole), it also works as a knee pad when I'm dumping

How does that help him pulling the valve handles?

Since your problem is valves that are hard to pull, here's the quick cure:

This cure involves drilling a small hole into the valve, with the tanks empty, squirting silicone inside, then capping the hole with a screw. The video is a minute and a half, the job won't take a lot longer!

Given the orientation of the valves in the 24.1's sewer compartment there is no way you'll fit a cordless drill in there to drill a hole on the top of the valves. You'll likely need a 90 degree adapter and the job will take more than you think with all the cussing involved LOL.

It might be possible to drill into the top corner of the valve at the front to get the lubricant into the valve. All you need is an 1/8” hole to add the lubricant and a short enough screw not to go thru it.
