Angry The Thor saga

We are the proud owners of an '18 Four Winds 31W. So far we haven't named her but I'm sure some suitable name will pop up. Delivered in late March we hopped on board and did a 13 day trip out of snow and into sunny Florida. There are some issues and the dealer now has the coach and is standing behind it, thus far.

One issue I am curious about and was told it is as designed by the service manager, is the location of a 1 x 3 inch hole at each bottom corner of the slide. Evidently this is to allow water to exit the slide exterior.. So my question is do these designers go outside, there are bugs, exhaust fumes and the like not to mention the whole purpose of an enclosure is to keep the outside out. These openings enter the coach (only when the slide is open) are large enough for mischievous rodents and their ilk to enter. Was told to block it with a sponge or a rag....very classy...

so has anyone else experienced this reaction or am I once again the naive sucker who walked into the door eyes wide open?

A 'hole to the outdoors'..?

Gosh, I'll admit that I really don't know if a 'drain hole' belongs there, but I, for one, would not take a 'service managers' word for it, especially if he is with a dealership. Give Thor a jingle just to be sure, and send them photos too. Sounds weird to me.

Yeah I would contact Thor customer service and send them photos. No holes in our slide.

Where exactly are the holes? In the wall, floor, outside walls? Got pictures?

I have them as well. at the edge of the slide below the floor. The weatherstripping does not cover on either side. No clue...

Everybody is going to be crawling under their slides now...
If it's an open hole: why not attach a screen to the underside of it? That would at least keep the creepy-crawlies out... water intrusion is another story!

If you look with a flashlight inside that hole you might find a gasket. My Windsport also has those openings and I was told by Thor they are for water.
My bedroom slide was missing a gasket on one side of the slide and I am waiting for the dealer to replace it.

And they should...I see one reply suggests these might be holes for gaskets and he is missing one. Located in the lower corner of the slide on the exterior wall cut into the lower slide gasket.

Bob wouldn't 'steer' you wrong!
Sorry I couldn't help it

Last accident I was in I accidently turned on my phone when my door wouldnt open and guy who hit me came to check as he said he didn't see me

I'm starting to think an accidental recorder in ur pocket while servicing your coach is not a bad idea?!

Without photos I am not sure where the hole is located on the slides. I have never seen holes on our Windsport. My question would be why is there water in the slide that had to be drained out?

I have a 2017 31w. I am going to have to look at my slide to see if I have these drain holes...

I have a 2018 Freedom TravelerA30. Shortly after delivery, I took it back to Camping World and pointed out a hole at the back of the slide where you could see light coming in from the outside. I also pointed out that I could place my hand inside the opening. Their solution was to spray a foam in the opening. Bummer. My unit is back at another Camping World to correct other problems, as well as the "hole". I have written one letter to "Thor Warranty" and another is being drawn up. Bad workmanship.

We have a FW 24F...no "Drain" holes under the slide. BTW...Why would there even be water IN the slide to drain?
