Thor Vegas 24.1 2014

So here’s my newest problem... got locked in my RV because locking mechanism broke apart like a cheap toy . I was saved by a friend and people kind enough to help me at Boyds Key West. I was told this happened before and the women was trapped inside for 8 hours ! What do they make these things out of ? My god !

Sorry to hear of your problem with your entry door lock as many other people have to. Jamie geek has posted an excellent link for a Brauer replacement fits perfectly. Many of us went ahead and bought just simply to get ahead of the problem. They actually change the mechanism on later models. The original was a Trimark. Also find out that Jamie geek is one of the most helpful people on this forum. Just call him Mr Thor.

LOL! Um thanks...

The replacement Bauer lock is the BP-12RV I believe (You can get a measurement diagram on that page to see if that is the one--the "Cut Out" drawing).

Note that there are several threads on the broken Trimark locks:

Sadly there are more...just search for Trimark

And it isn't just a Thor problem. Other manufacturers have had the same issue with those cheap Trimark locks. Some even issued a recall.

Catching up after a few days AWOL.

When mine broke, with Mrs S inside at the fall Sunshine/Thor rally, I called Trimark and they sent me a replacement latch with a steel latch to replace the crappy pot metal one that came on our 2016 Vegas. Perfect fit and no one has reported having a steel one break.
