What year is your Vegas? Is it the newer shorter windshield or the older, taller, one?

So far we've been lucky with ours--no cracks in 4 years...knock on wooden head.

had a small crack fixed from a stone tossed up from, of all things, a farm tractor. It cost me $120 for two (son had one on his windshield also)

Stones happen.Friends of ours with a new car just had the windshield replaced from a stone caused crack.

You can find several previous threads on this forum with a search. In Florida, there is no deductible for glass replacement.

When driving, I try to leave plenty of room behind trucks and pickups. Can't control rocks thrown from oncoming traffic, but that space might keep one from something I'm following from hitting the windshield.

Our 2016 Axis windshield met a chunk of landscaping wood which fell from a passing pickup truck outside of Tampa...it hit a couple inches above the bottom of the glass cener...poked a hole in the glass and spider cracks up throughout the windshield...we were able to get home...$800 deductible later we had a new windshield. No fun, we were fortunate that it did not hit higher .. could have been disastrous. God was watching out for us.

Happy camping !! We are sooooo ready for nice weather to reach KS so we can get on the road !!

I made it a couple of years until this last trip when a small stone, almost not noticeable at the time pecked the bottom left corner of windshield-drivers side. Did not notice the 10" more or less until parked that afternoon. Scheduled to have it replaced on Tues. Took a few phone calls and measuring the windshield for correct part to be ordered. Glass folks said that on the large windshields, once a crack starts and is longer than a dollar bill, they replace it vs repair.
It has been said that due to the compound curves of the large windshield it is prone to have stresses build up that normally would not occur in a non compound curved glass.
