Toilet clogging
I know this subject has been brought up before, but I haven’t really seen a final solution on the matter. The toilet clogging issue on the Thor Motorhome’s
This is a constant issue that happens whether the tank is empty or 2/3 full, this is our 5th camper and we never had this problem, that includes when the kids came with us. A plunger is a must. It’s rediculous that such a basic function has this flaw. We have been traveling the lower United States since Christmas, and this is what we have to deal with. We have done the dawn detergent, the camper toilet paper etc. looking for any ideas to fix this problem. When we return home, I will pull the system apart and fix this, but for now just looking for advice that has worked for others. Thank you

So your saying its clogging from the bowl INTO the tank? Hince the "Plunger" you mentioned.
Not a clog from the Tank to the sewer?? Because you mentoned the "tank levels" and "Dawn" for the Tank only issues.
This is very odd.... most of the bowels I have seen are a staight shot down into the tank (no way to clog them).
Does your have a bend in the plumbing from the bowel? Can you get under the tolet and change the angle of the pipe? Perhaps even upside it some?
Or if its a tank issue perhaps your roof vent is clogged now allowing it to flow out?
I guess we need more details if you can. You can see where we can go either way with your question.
Also I have seen a $25 scope (like 12 foot long - very small for tight places) that hooks up to your cell phone.... Perhaps you need something like this to see what the problem is? Even if you use it one time to fix the problem - might be worth it??

This might have something to do with your diet...
There's nothing wrong with taking a "two-flush poop".

Mine is set up with a 45 degree elbow or two between the toilet and the tank. Dumb design if you ask me.... But generally my only issue with it is not knowing for sure how full the tank is....
We haven't had too much problem with plugging. I think it has happened a time or two when too much paper was used.
Yeah, perhaps try the two flush method &/or less paper. Also be sure to prime the bowl, maybe half full or so, with water before any solids go in

There is a bend in the pipe from the toilet to the tank which I am sure is a contributor, if the vent is clogged, how do you clear it?

Well im not 100 % sure since I never had to fix one. But what I would do is have someone flush the toliet (or drain a full tank) while someone is up on the roof listening (Smelling? ) for air flow? Most likely if your tank was full to the max some paper and other stuff could have clogged this vent ... so if a good tank flush dont help maybe try pressuized air from the roof vent down? Or perhaps water? (But if the clog dont clear water could be a problem making a mess somewhere inside the RV??).
Perhaps someone else can chime in on this one.

That’s what I was figuring, possibly using a leaf blower on the lowest speed of course lol, just wasn’t sure how it was all set up. Thank you.

Our half bath is on the passenger side, as is most units with half baths. The sewer pipe crosses over the frame and will cause a clog, especially if you have lots of girls using the toilet or lots of #2's. We try to use the rear full bath when stationery and the half while traveling or just run more water through it. You can level the coach a bit Listing to Port an it will help a bit. With mine...it's one of those sacrifices for convenience. If this is happening on the driver side toilets where they are mounted just over, or very close to the black tank, I would have to investigate how much paper they use and/or run a bit more water through on each flush. You can also do the "double flush", whereby you flush just after #2's departure, then another flush when the "paper work" is done.

Lol on the girls, all grown up and have their campers now. I am going to check the air vent and see if it’s blocked. Thank you.

You can always use a plumbers snake from the top to clear any obstructions.

Depending on what has been consumed: a "Plumber's Python" might be more effective.

This may be a silly thing to ask...but are you using the right type of TP? We have some at home that will rip the hyde off a grizzly. The RV TP is more delicate to dissolve, obviously.
Be sure the bowl has plenty of water. We do NOT skimp on toilet flushing water. We also have an angled drop. Bathroom on the patio side, and the tank slightly behind the bathroom. Snake the toilet and the vent. And be sure you use plenty of water for flushes. We've never had an issue.

I agree: one-ply for the paper, and lots of water!

Poop in a bucket, use the cake mixer to break it up, pour in toilet.

You don't want to know...
But it involves a Flo-Jet macerator, and a short hose!
And don't EVER get your mixing bowls mixed-up!
