Toilet Trouble
I have a 2017 Windsport 34F. The toilet keeps clogging, evidently because the toilet is installed over the narrow end of the black tank leaving only an inch or two for things to try move below the bottom of the entry tube. I had to purchase a sprayer to break things up and get things moving. I have had to use it several times so far. Thor says there is nothing they can do about it. Anyone else having this problem and/or found a solution. Maybe we could start a class-action.

I don't know how to ask; without seeming either insensitive, or foolish...
Have you tried using different... paper products, for the cleanup?
Perhaps multiple flushes, for an "event" might help...

Like many have said here: water is your best friend. Just solids won't break down and will pyramid . In my 29h the toilet is on the opposite side there is a second gate valve under the black tank which I keep closed. Otherwise the liquids would have to fill the crossover pipe before they stay in the tank to soften the solids. I fill the toilet with water (just like your home privy) after each flush. My gauges stay accurate and it dumps easily.

Toilet Trouble
Thanks for the responses.
1. Using the recommended RV TP.
2. Tried multiple flushes, no luck.
Thor rep suggests squirting dish soap in, or flushing before hand to slick it up, or keeping it full of water????!!!!
For the amount of money invested, it seems like their engineering/construction would be more sensible.
Anyone with a 34F having the same problem or is it just my unit?

By the way, this is my 5th unit (Class C, Pull behind, 5th wheel, tried 'em all) and this is the first time i've had this problem.
Again, thanks for the quick replies.

How about this one: Are you still using the same chemicals that have worked so well in the past?

We have a 34J and came from a travel trailer. Had the toilet back up our first trip because we were used to having the toilet go straight into the black tank. Once we started using a lot more water when we flush we haven't had any more issues. Just use a full bowel if your using TP. And flush a few times after #2.

Still using the same chemicals. The problem may be that my last unit flushed directly into the black tank. Another gentleman suggested using more water (fill bowel, flush long) so we will see how that works out. Thanks for replying.

No offense, and I'm glad you are getting some advice, but really, let's start a class action?

I've had multiple rvs and had no problems with the toilet. I now have a Thor Ace and have had nothing but problems with Thors design. My black tank is the shape of a roller paint tray. The toilet drops straight to the shallow end of the pool. It doesn't matter how much water you use it doesn't work. I cut an access in the tank so I can blast Mt. Everest until it's broken up. I completely agree with some kind of action. We pay all this money for something that never worked right from the factory. Sign me up for a suit.

We have a similar issue with our mid-coach black tank. We found that by adding some Calgon to the tank when adding the chemical pack, it helps make the inside of the tank slippery. Adding Calgon every 10 flushes or so seems to help keep the tank a little better than the usual pile at the base of the toilet without. For the stubborn messes, we have resorted to a coat hanger to break it up and then dump ice cubes into the toilet so the mass will flow downhill. That trick also helps when about to drive any kind of distance, the ice cubes will slosh around and break up some of the mess.

Our WS31 has been giving us fits as well. We too are used to a straight shot into the black tank. Ours has a curve/bend in the pipe maybe 6" below the opening. We have had it "burp" when flushing and spit guk out of the bowl! EEUUUWWWW!! My DW has had to resort to clearing the obstruction with a coat hanger. She is a smart cookie tho. She left the wire ends where they are originally and used it like a loop so as not to damage anything...

Question: If you dumped some Rid-X into the tank; would that be more effective in helping to break things down?

I remember seeing a lot of chatter about this, either here or on the other forum I frequent...
If I understand the problem correctly, many of the traditional poo pyramid solutions don't help
The inlet pipe lands on a shelf in the tank
... here's a picture I found online just to illustrate the idea... not the real tank in question, just something roughly similar....
So the flush lands on the shelf, with the water quickly running into the lower portion, forcing pyramid construction up out of the water.
The only thing I remember seeing was that some folks were installing tank rinsing jets positioned to wash this area down regularly.
My thought is to plumb the rinse jet to flow with every flush. Might help a little but not likely the real solution....
Too bad you can't get access in there to install a little ramp or wedge to that area.....would reduce overall capacity a bit but that might be a worthy tradeoff....or a pipe extension to direct the flow of the flush...

Basically, your photo shows the problem. my toilet is directly over the shallow shelf. On flushing, the water runs down into the deep end leaving the "goodies" in a cone shape. I like your idea of a secondary jet being installed in the tank. The only problem is the warranty by doing the installation. Hmm..

Bob, I'm not after money. I would like to see a recall or some sort of solution to their poor engineering/cost cutting at our/my aggravation. Had I known I would need an engineering degree to make a proper purchase decision, I may not have made the purchase.

I just wanted to use the phrase, "sue the crap out of them", in a thread about poop!
If you try and take me seriously: you will be sorely disappointed...

I kind of thought that. It's always better to keep a sense of humor, but it's always funnier if it's someone else troubles! I really thought more puns would show up. Kinda disappointed there weren't more. Not to mention I make a good straight man.
