We have something similar to the Magne shade. You can feel the difference as you put it on. In my opinion a cover like that works better than foil on the inside because the light/heat is blocked on the outside of the window before it gets into the coach (something on the inside will just block/reflect the light back into the window and heat up the blocking material and the window).

We've been very happy with our shade. Our A/C held our coach in hot St Louis weather and KC weather on sunny days.

The shade costs a lot less than a 2nd A/C unit (so its worth a try before ponying up for a 2nd A/C).

Yes, Magna Shades do make a difference.

Once you pull off the cover you'll see where it goes. The exhaust, or cool air is usually at the rear, you want the vent directly under the exhaust to get maximum benefit.

When it comes to blocking solar heat in order to reduce load on A/C, covers and insulation on the outside of windows is far more effective than blocking it on inside of window, even if it "feels" like insulation on inside of windows is doing a good job.

Once solar energy comes through windshield or window glass, even if it is blocked by a barrier, much of that heat will end up trapped inside the RV anyway due to air movement. You won't see it or feel the radiant heat of the sun on your skin, but much (sometimes most) of the solar heat will end up having to be removed by the A/C. That in return will make inside temperature warmer because A/C can't keep up.

Heat

I had the Magna Shades on my Vegas 25.2. With them in conjunction with blocking the windows with the silver foil I had no trouble keeping the inside of the coach cool in the hot Florida sun.
