Smelly water

Can I use bleach in the hot water heater to sanitize? On my last 2 trips the hot water stinks like sulfur even though I filled the fresh water tank at home. I sanitized the system when I dewinterized it but bypassed the water heater.

You might check your manual, but I believe the water heater manufacturers recommend a water/vinegar solution in stead of bleach.

I've heard of using Bleach or Hydrogen Peroxide in the freshwater tank; but nothing about using either of them in the hot water system...
I agree with m1noel
