Wouldn't it be nice

I'm not sure exactly how one goes about getting a forum like this started but I do know a little about a database and was just thinking how nice it would be to have a Solutions Database or a Solutions Topic that dealt directly with solutions and not all the BS that one has to wade through to find what your looking for. There is a LOT of good stuff on this forum that has saved my butte on a couple occasions but finding it was another story. A good example; tire pressure, do I really need to see another thread about tire pressure, how many more pages of these do we need. There are also some great detailed mods people have made but again, to get through it you have to wade through stuff that has nothing to do with the mod. It may take a little work but I'm guessing somebody is making money off this website so may I suggest you start a Solutions topic, clean up some of the crap from these threads and load them in. A few examples of things that might go in it are; Tire Pressures, how to reset the slide controller, where slide controllers are located on different models, the link on how to get your slide in in an emergency, possible solutions on a hot water heater not working, the electrical system reset buttons and where they are located, where the breaker boxes/fuses are located etc etc. Maybe even add some troubleshooting tips. The tip posted by dstankov on the holding tank problem was excellent but how would you ever find it if you had a similiar problem. There are many other excellent tips littered throughout thousands of posts but no way to find them without sometimes hours of searching. I frequent this website just to read about problems and solutions in case it ever happens to me but there has to be a better way to find this stuff. Thanks

Great idea!
I noticed you didn't mention the always troublesome oil discussion. Seems not of great interest here (thank goodness) but some get really crazy on a motorcycle forum I peruse.

I thought that was what "stickeys" were for. Suggest you have a conversation with the administrator on that.

Another forum I'm on has a write-up thread. It's where folks can document all those things you mention. Top of the tread is a sticky table of contents (which has to be managed) with links to the appropriate write-ups.

It's a great resource with some great technical write-ups with supporting photos.

Might be easier to have the mods add that as a thread than to start a new forum.

BTW it still doesn't stop folks from asking the same questions over and over.

Stickeys for a solutions database!? That's sort of how I feel about the way some of these things were put together; "stickeys".

My other thought is that many people come on and don't even search a topic before posting a question if they won't search the forums why would they search a DB?

Along those lines: Sometimes people aren't sure what to search for given what they are looking for.
