Billings MT

I will be passing through Billings MT on my way to Banff later this month. I will literally be pulling in after dinner and leaving before breakfast. As my time schedule is so short I am not interested in driving far off the highway to a campground, and not jazzed about a $50-75ish/night in a KOA or rv park. Does anyone have any experience with a free campsites at the Cabela's in Billings MT? Or other suggestions in the area?

Hi.... I am my husbands co-pilot, have you ever used the app AllStays Camp &RV? It allow you to select filters to see where you can dry camp. I just looked and in Billings, both Walmart and Cabelas allow overnight if you ask.

Being a retired truck driver, spent the night in Billings @ the Town Pump T/S... no issues

A bit higher in price but you might stay here:

We have, it's comfortable, shady and close to everything in town but very quiet. The Staff are knowledgeable and courteous. Be mindful of the height of your rig due to so many mature trees.
It's only a couple miles off the highway.
