Propane

I is important to turn off the propane at the bottle before entering a tunnel and also turn off anything such as your refrigerator that has a flame. The reason for this is that fumes stagnate in tunnels. If your refrigerator happens to light at the moment you are going through those fumes you blow up. Not a good thing. If you have turned off the propane, and by the way the generator, you will have no possible flames to set it off. Safety first. There are usually pull off areas just before tunnels to do this. So you pull off, turn off, drive and then pull off and get things going again. Takes just a minute to be safe.

I've been using the tunnel for nearly 20 years with MH, TT, 5ths. Never stopped for propane inspection, no warning signs or advisory about propane. Maryland tunnels, with a very limited exception is no propane. Norfolk, stop at a tunnel inspection to check for bottles turned off.

Traveled it a number of times when I want to avoid DC traffic. Pay the toll and enjoy the scenery.

Looks like you have the choice of going via Annapolis vs via Norfolk. I guess I would choose the CBBT as it likely has less traffic.

Well made the trip to the Kia did theCBBT all went well. I did have to stop for inspection of propane. Nice people no problems it’s all for safety. They did check both ways and we had a wonderful time.
