Counting Down the Days!

The days until we motor out of our snowy driveway to head south for the first time. My wife has copied 2-3 lists I sent her from here & another site to prepare us, the Quantum and shutting down the house. I know we're getting a late start, but we had all three son's, wives & kids coming for Christmas.
She found out something cool last week. We were able to get vacation over-rides (something to that effect) on our prescriptions!! We always get 90 days worth, but they would have run out about 4 weeks into the planned 6-7 week trip. This allowed us to get our next 90 days early!! Pretty cool, Huh!?
Anyway, we are headed to the Indio, CA area for 4 days, then on to an RV park just west of Phoenix. Stay there 2 weeks and start our way up to Sedona, through the Grand Canyon and St.George, UT area. Up through Reno and stop at my oldest son/daughter's place to help him install the engine we built for his race/show Dodge Dakota R/T, 2wd.
Kind of a whirlwind trip, but first time doing this we thought we'd keep it short. She's worried about getting home early enough to get a good start on our TAXES!!

Have a great and safe trip and tell the wife you can deduct the intrest on the RV if you have it financed.

Thanks. She's a pretty smart cookie. She has an MBA (masters of business administration) and was staff accountant at ALCOA before retirement. Because of her our MH is paid for!

Thanks Bob! I hope you are able to get out and try out your new coach REAL soon! I told my wife "we have to get out there and do this". "We didn't buy the new ws31 to sit in the driveway and look purty". I have an 83 year old Mom living on her own and says she would just die if she was in a "Retirement Home". She doesn't like the fact that I will be gone 6-7 weeks. But, what are we to do? We have her set up with a couple friends that she can call if needed.

We have been gone two days now. Met and had lunch with one son,z wife and g-daughter in Beaverton, OR. Now camped in Corvallis. Headed for the ocean today. Will spend two days driving highway 101 into northern California.
Nothing but FOG through the windshield so far! Still better than starring at the Q sitting in the snow!

And, our rig. 2016 WS31 & 2014 Ford Focus. Pulls it with ease. We stopped at Osprey Point RV park. Very large grassy area with asphalt pads. Also, has a pub & Pizzeria among all the usual amenities.

VG, keep the pics coming too.
Kinda jealous, we have maybe two to three years before the both of us can go for more than one week at a time.
So for right now, it is three day trips not too far away, and four day weekends around some holidays for further.
Me, I may solo it southbound for 5 here and there.
We also want to pull a car, just not there yet, in due time!
Enjoy!

It's the perfect time for you to get to know your MH. This is just the second summer pulling a toad. It's pretty easy.

We decided to make the 300 mile run from Sacramento to Bakersfield in one day today. Got a later than wanted 9:30 am start due to a loose battery cable for the house batteries. CA99 was a pretty good highway to take. It had a few rough patches, but they didn't last more than a couple miles. However, the concrete sections made the coach creak & squeak like pulling an old nail out of a 2x4! I am wondering if it is the styro foam insulation in the walls rubbing. It about drove me NUTZ! I have to give Kudos to my DW! She is doing a great job navigating on one phone & finding "Passport America" RV parks on the other! That gets us 50% off a nights stay! Sitting now with the door open enjoying the 68° weather.
I hope everyone is staying safe & warm out there!

So, a little update, nothing exciting. We have been in Buckeye, AZ for a week now. The weather has been "unusually cold" according to the locals. 33° for a couple three nights. Most days have been 57°ish to 68° yesterday. Researched a couple days of scenic drives. Both sets of instructions led us to dead ends! Go figure.
We are at Leaf Verde rv park. It is clean, well run, but very tight quarters for parking the rv's.
