Evacuations...Need Emergency Help?

Sometimes we don't take these things too seriously until it's too late. Last year taught us a huge lesson.

Without overloading this thread with opinions and idol chat, if anyone is having to evacuate the coast this week and needs help, supplies or assistance with anything life threatening, I live in the Atlanta area and will offer anything I can do to help our RV family. I'm sure many others here in different areas will do the same. Just reach out on this thread with your name, phone number, your precise location, vehicle description and specific problem.

Last year we (a group of friends) helped a few people at the Atlanta Motor Speedway and another CG. A couple was in a car with two kids and a dog...no diapers, water or money. Was able to give lots of staples out to people in need. Many had to jump and run from Florida...prepared or not. One of my favorite movies ever was "Pay it Forward". We've all been there at one time in our lives.

We've been in 'evacuation mode' many times in our lives. We've run from hurricanes threatening the South Carolina coast back in the 80 to floods and wildfires here in Texas. It would have been nice to have local assistance while running scared. If anyone runs as far as Central Texas, I will help as best an old timer can.

Atlanta seems to be the settling point for Florida and southern east coast evacuees. Many businesses with space will make it known on the local news, etc. Lots of local groups will organize and go out to check on these people and offer what they can. I've seen big RV's cooking on the grills...just wave and keep moving. It's the families in tents and sleeping in cars and on the ground that need the help and it isn't just here...it's everywhere we've had these big storms lately. High Horses seem to be put in the barn and most people that have an appreciation for the good in their own lives will humble at times like these. There's always something you can do for somebody.
