She's sounding pretty excited about it, and is already researching all of the dining establishments...

Food was a big expense for me. Wife wanted to eat at every themed restaurant. Cinderella, beauty and the beast, etc. Plus hours waiting In Line so she could get pics with every princess in the park

We've been to WDW more than a few times, so we're pretty comfortable with the game...
But this will be our first trip to stay in the Campgrounds...
Eating...
If you tried to eat in all of them: you'd bust!

Exclamation

Depending on what comes up between now and then, we just may be able to be your "neighbors" at Ft Wilderness then.

We'll be arriving on the 5th, and leaving on the 11th: I hope that our plans can coincide!

take a look at the Orlando/Kissimee KOA, not too far about 8 miles, clean and quiet, we will check out in the AM from the KOA and the travel to meetings at the Dolphin/Swan was easy!

Bob, our best to your wife. We winter in Ft Wilderness for the last 5 years. Yep, it's expensive but that's why I put up with flying between the US and Europe for a lot of years.

I hope you and her have many more adventures together.

BTW, if you need WDW info, please PM me.

We stayed there ,but would not do that again. Our site was too small, after 3 different ones we finally got one we could fit in, even though we told them how big were were ahead of time. The site was dirty. Cans, and candy wrappers all over. We were not the only ones in the loop that were disappointed .a rig down the street almost went in the ditch trying to get into his site. With some extra help he made it but wasn't happy, having to pick up trash either. I did report it , but the only reply I received was that I should have gotten a site with cable, that they were nicer. For $75 this one should have been clean. I didn't come there to watch cable TV . Once and done

It sounds as if you should have popped for one of the premium sites...

At the time it was the next to the highest price, with the only difference between them being cable TV.

Bob, Living in the Midwest. I do not get to eat lobster every night like you.

This is one of my favorites for lobster while @ Disney.

I've never had a bad meal anywhere in the park.

Reading this thread makes me want to buy another annual pass for Disneyland and plan another trip to Disney world

Earlier this year we stayed at Port Orleans hotel. Would go there again

Another great place in WDW to stay if Camp Wilderness is booked up is (if you are Military, Retired Military or 100% VA rated) is: Shades of Green Resort. They have secure parking for autos as well as RVs and free transportation into the parks. Shades of Green Resort is located right next to the main WDW Transportation Monorail hub. You do however need an ID card to get through their gate. Room prices are based on military pay grade and are very reasonable for all they offer. Their website explains all and, Oh yeah - their Sunday Brunch is the best you will experience! When we lived in Orlando, before I retired from the Navy, we would go there just for the brunch...Discounted WDW tix are available for purchase at the resort.
Not a paid spokesperson - Just a fan!

Paul

Lobsters??

I think that we call them crayfish, and catch them in the creek that runs behind our house...

You're right: you can't find a bad meal in the place... even the garbage cans smell pretty good!

Fort Widerness

We live 45 minutes from the campground. Have not been there yet but we just picked up our Axis 25.2 on Friday! It is on our bucket list!
