Indy to Green Bay

Hello! Wondering if we should travel through Chicago or around on our way to Green Bay and UP. Any advice? Thanks!!

Lots of tolls that way. Here is a PDF Map of the toll roads (looks like the whole website is pretty informative about the tolls).

You could also go up I-196/US-31 on the Michigan side and take the Badger across. Of course taking the Badger would take longer, and be more expensive than the tolls ! LOL (If I had the time; I'd take the Badger--at least once.) Every time we go that way (to the UP, WI, etc.) I threaten to take the Badger but the timing hasn't worked out for us.

Just a heads up, US31 from Carmel to Peru is terrible! "Next Level Improvements" the state calls it.
Yeah - right, means you find the next level of pavement 2-3 inches above or below the previous section. It will beat the tar out of you.

Thanks, JamieGeek!! Great map and, yes, we’ve paid many tolls up there! Coming back down 31 in MI this trip...to Saugatuck area. I guess traffic is traffic whether in car or RV. Appreciate the map!
