Jerry and Maria's travels in Our Motorhome

Day 5. Drove to Albuquerque where we met Dino, Angie, Dennis, Janet, Harold and Cathy. We caravaned to the South lot of the Balloon Festival

We are all parked in a row in very unlevel spots. We all got set up and relaxing now.

Dino and I already started doing work on his mh

Next few days should be fun.

Day 6. The ballons did a practice run this morning. Flew over our campsite

We then all went to the Sandia tram. Ate lunch at the restaurant then took the tram. Again beautiful scenery

Early morning tomorrow. 430am to watch the balloons

Lots of fun hanging out with Dino and his family and friends

Day 7. Up at 330 to catch the 4am shuttle. We did the morning glow and mass ascension. Pretty awesome site. We were up close to the balloons and learned a lot. Seemed like a million people there

Came back to the site and put the Blackstone griddle to use. Pancakes, egg, sausage. Fed the group and all were happy

The night glow was a bust. 20+mph winds so no balloons

Hanging with Dino and his clan is a lot if fun

Jerry, You brought the bad weather with you. I hope you are still enjoying the balloon fiesta. Hopefully the weather improves What are your thoughts on the south campground? Would you choose it again? Brian

As some of you know, we were supposed to be there but had to cancel last minute. Anything you can share for next year would be much appreciated.

South lot was ok especially the price. I hate dry camping but we managed fine for the 4 days we were there. Being with Dino, his brother Dennis and friend Harold with all the wife's was the best part.

I would stay here again. I may look for full hook ups next trip.

Day 8. Wind stop the balloons from flying in both morning and night. So we went to Old Town Albuquerque. Ate lunch and walked around the town. Not much worth buying but IMO a must do day trip if you're in the area. No pics today

Day 9. Travel day. Left Albuquerque at 7am after saying good by to the group

Drove about 8 hours to Tombstone.
I love the 75 mph speed limit in N.M. and Az. I only drove 65mph. That's fast enough for me pulling the jeep

After setting up camp we drove into town to check it out.

Tomorrow we will do all the tours. Weather so far is great

Day 10. Tombstone. We watch two shows, one had nothing to do with the gunfight. The other was the OK Corral gun fight. It was the better of the two

We took the trolley tour and walked up and down the streets visiting all the shoos. We spent 8 hours there. Good but tiring day. Time to relax and we will watch Tombstone, DVD, tonight. My buddy Jeff has never seen it

Day 11. We drove to Bisbee to tour the Queen Copper Mine. Very interesting tour. We went 1500 ft into the mine. Amazing what these men did

We then drove to Sierra Vista just for Home Depot. While driving to Tombstone we were smelling one if the holding tanks. An air admittance valve went bad. Picked up three new valves and one for a spare. Hopefully the new calve works. I couldn't smell it much while driving but my buddy Jeff was sitting in the dinette seat and was gagging

Went back to Tombstone and toured the Good Enough Mine, old court house and the Boot Hill gavryard

Jerry - Tombstone looks like a pretty cool place. I assume you "pulled some strings" and got Maria out of jail !
