Atlanta to Sevierville

I will be traveling from NE Atlanta suburbs to Sevierville, TN in early November 2022 in our 36’ Aria DP.
I am familiar with US 441 to Franklin and Sylva, NC but not with 441 over the mountains, through Clingmans Dome and on to Gatlinburg and Sevierville.
Is this route doable in a 36’ DP or is it too many switchbacks and too much “white knuckle” driving?
Obviously very scenic and shorter via miles than I-75 to Knoxville and then I-40 but may be too difficult in our coach.
Thank you in advance in sharing your experience and knowledge.

441 from Cherokee to Gatlinnurg is a don't miss run. You'll be fine. Yes it's the mountains and there will be a few "weeee" moments but nothing to keep you from doing it. If you have an extra day, Cade's Cove is one of the most fascinating places you'll ever visit.

We did that route in our 33 foot gas coach several years ago. Tow/Haul helped a lot and Mrs S enjoyed the scenery more than the driver (me). Corners are wide and road surface was good then. Just remember it's not a race.

Agree with Gritz here, we loved Cades Cove drive although there was a moment when we thought a bear might join us in our convertible!

We have enjoyed time in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Cherokee. Beautiful part of the country.

Enjoy and report back!

We live here and have done that route many many times. The Cherokee Nation makes sure that road is doable with a large bus because they have a casino there. As others have mentioned it is not an interstate and expect a few switchback curves and usually lots of traffic. The main thing to remember is there will be very long downhill grades with curves to negotiate so keep your speed down and use low gear. Many have overheated their brakes so use those gears.
