Question A listing of 55+ RV Parks?

Call me an old fart, but after our coast-to-coast trip this winter the wife and I agreed that we greatly preferred 55+ RV Parks to "family" campgrounds. Problem is, I can't find a quick way to locate 55+ parks across the USA, other than sifting through the big CW guide or doing tedious internet searches. So...does anyone know of a way to search only 55+ parks? Info such as activities, amenities, max length, length of stays, costs, etc would be very helpful. I searched this forum and couldn't find anything on this topic, but I figure there are others like me that would appreciate this info. FWIW we found Villa Alameda RV Park in Yuma AZ and Rainbow RV Park in FrostProof FL to be tops on our list. At the bottom are Crazy Horse RV Park (aptly named) in Tucson AZ and Tejas Valley RV Park in San Antonio TX - there were much more like Oil & Gas work camps than RV parks!

Thanks, Larry

Thats a great idea. I would be intrested in this as well. But I still have to wait 3 years before im "of age"

Surely they a special web site or a site with that 55 + filter build into it.

This is a list of 55+ parks by region and by state. Most are long term and full retirement communities, however many will rent short term if they have a space open. It seems you may be looking for are 55+ parks while you are traveling. If that’s so, i’ve Seen very few 55+ KOA type places. These parks are looking to fill the widest audience they can get.

The Park Advisor app has them. You can even just go into settings and just select to have them only show. And I agree with you about 55 parks.

Thanks for the link. I checked it out and it looks like its focused on 55+ retirement communities as opposed to RV parks. You are correct when you say I am looking for 55+ parks while traveling. The parks I listed in my post as my favorites were a combination of permanent and transient spots. I agree there is not a plethora of this type of RV park which led to my question. I believe this will be a growing trend as more of us baby boomers hit the road!

Do I want to listen to a bunch of Olpharts complaining about their bowels....

Or the four year old kid: who is using his battery-powered "Jeep" as a battering ram; to move the trash can around...
With these choices: I think I'll just put on the Weather Channel!

Thanks, I downloaded the Park Advisor App and its exactly what I needed! Also I was surprised to see that not only can you filter 55+ parks, you can also filter Walmart, Camping World, National/State Parks, and many many more categories. I used the OvernightRV App on our trip and found it very useful when we wanted to find a place to boondock overnight but Park Advisor looks more comprehensive. I'll definitely be adding Park Advisor to my repertoire!!!
