Our big trip across the US

Just left our home in Phoenix, spending the night in Flagstaff, then to Grand Junction to see my daughter for a day, then taking 70 across to Oregon, Ohio to see cousin and uncle. Spending a few days there. It’s where I was born and raised, also getting to do some fishing for Perch in Lake Erie, then on to Maine to see my wife’s Dad and uncle in Harrison and Bangor, then slowly work our way back home. Took two mini trips with our new Thor Chateau E31 to Flagstaff and California, now on the big trip. Sitting in my lounge chair in Flag now. Hope to have a fun and safe trip.

By golly, we think you've got a GREAT plan. Be safe, enjoy and focus on the journey being the destination. Again - enjoy.

I have been hoping for a Maine trip for several years and every year something comes up. Maybe next year for us so leave us some lobster.

Have a safe trip

Did you go through Sedona and up Oak Creek Canyon to get to Flagstaff? We used to own a bed and breakfast in Sedona.

Stayed at KOA in Grand Junction. Great campground. Very clean and roomy. Then on to Ohio staying tonight at Holiday RV Park in North Platte. Nice place for overnight, no sewer hook up but they have dump station. Good WIFi

Going through the mountains coming out of Colorado was rough, route 70 was not in good shape, but my E450 handled the mountains pretty good. Stopped in Ohio for a few days to see family. Stayed at Maumee Bay State Park. Beautiful place, but only had power hook up no water or sewer. But had a dump station and water fill at each section. Each camp site is enclosed by trees so you have privacy. Had fire ring and table. Then headed to Maine to see wife’s family. Brrrrrr it’s chilly here, going to try the RV in heat mode this morning. Staying in Salisbury Beach Campground. In Mass. Then on to VacationLand Campground in Harrison Maine near my wife’s dad. Roads were okay just occasionally some construction.

Stayed at Vacationland campground in Maine, nice place..... then Pleasant Hill campground, as ok. Then Charleston KOA in South Carolina. Now we’re headed to our home in Phoenix. Still using RVPark Adviser to find and read reviews of campgrounds as we go. Also us Good Sam as a rating app. Most all campgrounds have been good. No major complaints. All in all a good trip, but after being gone over a month it will be nice to get home.

Are you taking 40 in to AZ or 10? I would like to hear a road report if possible. We will be heading to Florida in the spring to visit family but planning on a stop in Valley of the Sun to visit friends. I am thinking 40 must be pretty good now since they have torn it up for the past 10 years or so. Which ever rt you take, drive safely and enjoy the passing miles.
