Rving the Adirondacks

Can/would someone suggest a good place to stay in the Adirondacks? Full Hookups are preferred. State parks sometimes have them and NPS almost never does. Never been there and want to have a good time. Thanks in advance.

Where are you planning to go up there?
(It's kind of a big area... narrow it down for us! )

Close to 19,000 square miles. Lots of places.

I took a swing, and guessed that Lake Placid would be on their itinerary.

Just don't plan on finding any Thai food up there. Drove down from Ithaca and my wife became very upset when I told her the GPS tracked the nearest Thai restaurant to almost 400 miles south. Cracker Barrel, no problemo.... Satay Chicken skewers nada.

Lake George is just about at the Southern edge of the Adirondack park...
We like staying at the Lake George RV park.

Thanks for all your suggestions. There's only 3 people here: me, myself and I

i hope that all three of you enjoy the trip!
If you stay at the Lake George RV Park: take the Trolley into Town, and either take a boat ride on the lake... or enjoy walking the Main St.

That's true: they also offer Dinner cruises...
If you Google, "Lake George Steamboat Company": I think that you'll get pointed in the right direction...

Bob is right. Drinks and dinner are nice, but while the drinks are good, the dinner can be just okay. That said I’ve done it 3 times and had fun each time.

As the light falls the shadows and twilight are enchanting.

With all due respect and courtesy, going to the Adirondacks and not visiting a few NY State Parks is like eating a peanut butter & jelly sandwich without the peanut butter & jelly. Even if you stay 2-3 days each at three to four state campgrounds, you will be realizing the true beauty, natural environment and charm that "The Dacks" has to offer.

Some campgrounds that you may wish to stay at, along with their respective attraction(s) are:

1. Meadowbrook- Lake Placid Village Area and Whiteface Mountain
2. Wilmington Notch -Ausable River
3. Crown Point - Battlefields and forts
4. Eagle Point - Schroon Lake;Natural Bridge & Caves; Seagle Music Colony
5. Frontier Town - Just opened in 2019
6. Lake George Battleground - Battlefield and Lake George
7. Rogers Rock - near Ft. Ticonderoga
8. Lewey Lake - Adirondack Museum at Blue Lake * A MUST SEE
9. Sacandage- On the banks of the Sacandaga River
10. Thousand Islands Region; this area is west of the Adirondacks and has exquisite waterfront campgrounds.

Thanks for the list!
As long as the Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich has bacon on it: I'm good to go!

Now, you will get no argument here; I may even have the peanut butter and jelly along with the bacon served on a plate, without the bread

Holy smoke. I had a different word in mind but this is a public forum.

Tucking this away with the 'Places To Visit"

Thank you.
