Lake George RV Park.

We're heading up there for our Shakedown Cruise!
We leave tomorrow at Noon, and return on Monday.
I hope that everybody has a GREAT Memorial Day Weekend!!

We'll take lots of pictures, and I'm sure that there'll be a story or three to tell as well...

Thought you were going say you were going up for the Americade Motorcycle Rally. That's the first full week in June.

The Shakedown cruise is in the books...
The Outlaw passed with flying colors.
The distance to Lake George is only about 160 miles for us, so it was an easy hop after we shut down our office last Friday at Noon...
The traffic was pretty heavy on the way up... folks gave us a pretty wide berth: they must have been waiting for me to do something foolish!!
Setting up Camp was easy-peasy: it took about 30 minutes, and we took our time.
It's a really nice park, and I'd recommend it to anyone. Particularly if you travel with dogs... They've got a play area for Dogs that is amazing!
We had some rain on Sunday afternoon; but the weather wasn't all that bad.
We took about an hour to break camp this morning, and headed back for home at 9:15... hit our driveway at 12:25.
The Missus was happy, so I'm doing cartwheels!!!

Congratulations on a successful maiden voyage!

I chickened out and went to Disney for our first trip. Is as you said, parked, set up in 30 minutes and ready for the parks. Constant entertainment watching others park rigs. Disney was very dog friendly and even the old dog loved it.

We found after a few trips that you learn how to stock for each duration trip.

Very true and great advice!! I make it a point to unload most everything (save the obvious hardware) after each trip, including food and clothes, and re-load as needed for the next trip, when it comes around. You end up with so much junk in your unit and you forget about so much stuff in there. One day you wonder why you've lost so much fuel mileage..."too much stuff"!

My wife occasionally reminds me of the 14 rolls of paper towels and 16 rolls of toilet paper we accumulated the first 6 months. I remind her of the 10 years worth of paper plates.

Don't need to be retired, just a week of vacation or so (We did Disney when our son was 4..can't beat Ft. Wilderness.)

I'd be looking at just about a 1350 mile trip to get there...
We've "done Disney" countless times over the years (starting back in 1978...)
My folks set up their rig in the campgrounds in 1986, and we spent a night there with them.... it's definitely a park worth landing in!

About 1200 for us... easy peasy with a motorhome

(First thing we did after getting the Axis was plan/take a trip to southern FL--all the way down to Marco Island...)
